Two weeks. Oops?

Hi, internet! Um, I'm sorry, it's just ever since we moved in with Jenni and Elri I have had to get my internet fix in small, controlled doses, either from Wholly Bagels, the university library or, very occasionally, Jenni's laptop. You see, they do have internet. Said internet just hates my laptop.

Anyway, it's a totally beautiful house, and my bedroom is ENORMOUS and filled with furniture that I actually own. (Also furniture that I do not actually own, but I have a bed and a mirror and draws and that's what counts.) Wellington is currently in the grips of hot, sunny weather, beautiful and picture-perfect; naturally, we loathe it. You can't walk five steps out the front door without sweating, and between the weather and the AC/DC concert, the city has been besieged by so many tourists that you can't move - especially on the cable car, our unfortunately picturesque daily public transport. Right now, it's like riding a flesh oven.

But anyway, I have pictures! Actual pictures of this pretty pretty place. Okay, only two, because I didn't want to go overboard, and I think I should have gotten a snap of the view from the kitchen and living room windows, which is of the valley all lit up with evening sunlight, but still.

That right there is my bedroom. Please ignore the pile of boxes, clothing, and garbage bag filled with shoes, and concentrate instead on the way my bed fits perfectly into that alcove, which I have lined with only the finest geek posters. Also, the windows that take up practically an entire wall, and get flooded with sunlight in the mornings. Not seen: a real (if boarded-up and now poster-bedecked) fireplace, because old house is old, just behind that desk on the right.

The driveway, which might seem like an odd choice to you but do you see that bushy, flowered creeper on the right fence? I'm pretty sure it's jasmine. Three seconds before you step out onto the pavement, it wafts the most delicious scent right over you. Also, it's a pretty road in a lovely neighborhood, and pretty much every available surface is covered in plants. It's just so nice here.

Anyway, I should and shall shut up about it now. In other news, I finished my Classics essay and have another English essay due, and I'm turning 22 in a fortnight. Woo!

moving, wellington, pictures
