I'd been putting off posting these until those that are gifts were given. Now it has been done, and the photo parade can commence.
This year, my Grannie just wanted a gift card, but I can't not knit something for someone's birthday. So I made a little red and gold sparkly drawstring bag in which to put the card. The pattern is
my own, modified to have a square bottom by decreasing 8 stitches (two in four places) every round, and the yarn is some unidentified stuff from my stash. The cord is just a length of the same yarn, twisted until it curls up on itself, then tied at the ends, with a couple red wooden beads added.

My mom and aunt also had birthdays coming up, so I made them some
Fetching mitts. One ball of Cascade 220 Superwash in color #810 (teal) was enough for two pair. Like the
other Fetchings I made, I added a thumb gusset, instead of the waste yarn thumb hole in the original pattern.

Then I made some fingerless mitts and a matching hat for my stepsister, not because it was her birthday, but because I had this yarn that I though she might like. It's Universal Pebbles in color #20 (purple/brown/pink/red). I used the
Voodoo Wrist Warmer pattern (modified for a slightly chunkier gauge) for the armwarmers, and the hat is just a basic ribbed hat that I made up as I went.

Thursday night, I finished my
Baudelaires. The yarn is Louet Gems in Soft Coral. I modified the pattern to have a short-row heel, but worked them toe-up like the original. I also reversed the cable on the second sock for symmetry.

Friday morning, I cast on a new pair of socks: a basic ribbed sock in a lovely autumnal, self-striping colorway. I'm making up the pattern since it's fairly simple. The yarn is Lang Jawoll Aktion in color #132.201. They're so quick and easy, I've already almost finished the first sock.

And while I'm at it, I may as well add some yarn porn to this post. My sister-in-law ordered a huge cone of Jaggerspun Zephyr in color #3775 (ice blue) and was kind enough to wind some off for me. I've never worked lace with actual laceweight yarn, so we'll see how it works out.

She also brought me a skein of the new Noro Kureyon Sock yarn in color #S180 (pink/orange/turquoise) from her trip to New Jersey. I can't wait to knit this.

And on my way back from my recent family visit, I stopped at a yarn shop I'd never explored and picked up a couple balls of Jojoland Melody Superwash in color #MS20 (red/purple).

Okay, I think that's all for now.
