There Is No Hope In Tomorrow

Jun 08, 2006 19:19

I’ll leave the hope to fools
And the fools to hope
Me, I’ve had enough of it
I’m at the end of my rope

Reality is a cancer that grows inside
And perception, a traitor, allows it to hide
But ill conception is my friend no more
I found her an undependable whore
The story was love when we first met
Oh, how soon the heart tends to forget
How soon all the raves begin to get ranted
How soon everything gets taken for granted
How easily the truth begins to get slanted
To think, this love once felt enchanted
But things in common are only common things
And last only as long as the songbird sings
And people change and they grow apart
They don’t always finish back at the start
Now that I see the fork in the road
I wonder where she will bear her load
Under the rainbow or into the storm
Does she know when to rebel
And when to conform

Oh, there is no hope in tomorrow
Only discontent and sorrow
And the hollowness that follows
Makes it so hard to (s)wallow
To leave the hope to the fools
To the fools lost on dope
And I believe I will join them
Makes it less hard to cope
