The situation:
I am shocked by the Professional Photography prices I have seen so far. My fiance and I plan to have small, simple, outdoor wedding with under 150 guests. We plan to have the reception in the same location with cake and food under a tent/sided canopy. Prices for these great photographers(who I feel are worth the price they ask) are way out of our price range. The prices they ask are 50% if not 95% of what we want to pay for the ceremony and reception together.
The question:
Are any of you planning to do something other than using a professional wedding photographer for your wedding/reception? Would it work to ask a few friends(that we know are good with digital cameras, and would do their best) to take as many photos possible for us to have? We're not thinking of putting cameras out for anyone to use because I have been told that you don't get very many good pictures and the cost to development them in outrageous anyways. Please help us out.
question,
