Earlier today I ran into a couple co-workers on the street at the six-way Damon/Milwaukee/North intersection. I don't particularly care for these co-workers much, to be honest I think they're snooty, wannabe-yuppie bitches. Though, out of social grace I thought it'd be appropriate and right to stop and say "hi." Perhaps the problem is that I didn't just say "hi," not at all. Rather, I greeted them by hollering "Sex-zy Lay-dies!" They turned their heads around toward me, one said, "Oh, ugh, hi Chad," and turned her head back, they both proceeded to go on, as if I didn't exist. Though, I'm really not that offended by this, after all, these women mean nothing to me. Plus, I can kind of understand that if they don't know that I'm gay, which is definitely possible, such an address may, in fact, be creepy. Nonetheless, given that I am a person, I still think that I deserve, at least, basic small talk; it's the glue that keeps acquaintances from being strangers again, and it's always good to have acquaintances.
