Fandom: Final Fantasy VII: (Advent Children)
Pairing: Kadaj (vs) Sephiroth
Theme Set: Gamma
Rating: PG...?
Note: Yeah, um, note the "(vs)" thing there, I don't want ecchi minds to get ahead of themselves, this isn't a romance set, it's more of a rivalry or struggle, if not a flat competition.

#01 - Ring
The blade sang as Kadaj's foot pressed heavily against it, knocking it to the dusty barren land; why must everything remind him of his fate?
#02 - Hero
Again Kadaj wondered silently, yet distantly, if reviving Sephiroth gave his name immortality.
#03 - Memory
Memories of Sephiroth overtook him, all stolen thoughts that Kadaj, himself, had never had.
#04 - Box
Kadaj gripped the box tightly, unwilling to let anything happen to the remaining part of Jenova that was intact.
#05 - Run
His fears were those from which he could not flee, could not hide, and could never, above all else, escape.
#06 - Hurricane
Kadaj was dazed by the torrent of clashing swords as he was pulled about to Sephiroth's will, seeing before him his own limits.
#07 - Wings
As Sephiroth seemed to have but one wing, Kadaj, himself, felt almost as though he had the other; Without the wing that he held, the warrior would never fly again.
#08 - Cold
The phenomenon of warm breath fogging in the air took Kadaj by surprise as he looked over children at play in a light blanket of snow; he had never witnessed this happen for his brothers or his own self.
#09 - Red
The wound dripped bright crimson, a stark contrast to Sephiroth's pale skin and dark clothing, and Kadaj wondered silently, as his very voice had been stolen from him, if he, too, would have bled, had he been cut.
#10 - Drink
He knew the end was coming, though when he could not say; still he drank in the sunset, knowing it may well be the last he should ever see.
#11 - Midnight
His eyes shone like the moon in the half-light of Midgar, wondering, as a chill ran down his back, what would become of him when he had served his purpose.
#12 - Temptation
At times, when he himself was scarcely occupied, Kadaj faced a growing desire to be free of the maternal grip on his mind, yet when next he considered it, he only thought that he was making a fool of himself; Sephiroth never sought freedom.
#13 - View
He could do no more than see, as though in the cockpit of a vessel on autopilot, as Sephiroth had full control.
#14 - Music
The monotone symphony pierced through Kadaj's mind yet, at the same time, deepened his trance, as the notes set his mind alight with thoughts, images, memories of people and places he had never seen, sounds he had never heard, and a past that was not at all his.
#15 - Silk
There was an undeniable grace to Sephiroth's movements, a practiced elegance that could not be disrupted.
#16 - Cover
The nine were connected symbolically by a silken ribbon tied around their upper left arms - Cloud, Tifa, Cid, Barret... - while Sephiroth, Kadaj, and his brothers were bonded not by physical trinket, but instead by Jenova.
#17 - Promise
He was sworn to perfect loyalty to Jenova; though his very soul would be relinquished to summon Sephiroth, he saw no reason that this should be too much to ask.
#18 - Dream
It may not seem odd to some, but as Kadaj awoke the next morning, he was astonished to find that he had been dreaming - he had looked upon his shadow to see another warrior's in place of his own, then he grew gradually smaller until he, in turn, became the shadow of a looming Sephiroth.
#19 - Candle
Kadaj felt, at times, that he was no more than a shadow that Jenova had created in the light of a dying flame, a shadow puppet of an even greater creation.
#20 - Talent
It was truly shameful that, of all he had to offer, his very life was the only gift he was to give.
#21 - Silence
The deafening silence surrounded Kadaj, and he filled his lungs, screamed, hoped against hope to fill the void, yet now that he had given himself to Sephiroth, he could do nothing.
#22 - Journey
Though he tried desperately, it seemed imporrible for Kadaj to convince himself that living through Sephiroth was a journey in itself.
#23 - Fire
There were fleeting images which passed through Kadaj's mind, in the most disturbing of which he stood oppressively, dominantly, his head slightly tilted, mouth turned upright into a sneer, yet his eyes, alone, screamed for salvation, echoing the wild energy of the fire that surrounded him.
#24 - Strength
As Kadaj pressed the remaining part of his mother's body to his chest, Kadaj prayed for strength to face his destiny.
#25 - Mask
Sephiroth had taken over, that much was clear, but his existance was only a shadow to what Kadaj had already become - ff someday Sephiroth should fall, perhaps Kadaj would have another chance to thrive.
#26 - Ice
Never would Kadaj have imagined imprisonment to be so cold.
#27 - Fall
Though he had been hoping against reason that it would happen, as Sephiroth fell, Kadaj felt empty and insecure.
#28 - Forgotten
Perhaps he did not fear giving himself to Sephiroth, only that all memory of him would fade, even from the mind of his own mother.
#29 - Dance
Every detail of his world was taken in by Kadaj, even the quick darting of leaves falling in the autumnal breeze, and they all reminded him how little time he had to learn them.
#30 - Body
This body was no longer his.
#31 - Sacred
Why should Sephiroth have been so important to her, even now that he has failed, no less died, why should he be ressurrected - how could he be so holy to her?
#32 - Farewells
Though unsure of how he knew, Kadaj felt that should Sephiroth return, now was the time; he would never meet his brothers again.
#33 - World
He himself could not explain what he truly was - not adequately - yet as his feet first pressed into the soft earth, he felt - or maybe he only thought he felt - that he was given a playground to explore and reign over.
#34 - Formal
There was no ceremony in which Sephiroth would be reborn, nothing to mark the occasion, but the flashing of steel against steel, and Sephiroth was greatful for the welcome that had been delivered to him.
#35 - Fever
He had never fallen ill but while acting as his slave within him, delving into Sephiroth's memory, Kadaj felt as helpless as though he were.
#36 - Laugh
Sephiroth's lips curled into a cruel laughter, cruel but honest, laughter which Kadaj felt... and envied.
#37 - Lies
Lies; they were the only human trait that he had grown to understand, yet never put into play himself: he simply saw no need.
#38 - Forever
Though Kadaj's fate did occasionally haunt him, he could bear it with a proud grin, satisfied that he had been the one Jenova chose to bring Sephiroth back to power, until the word 'forever' crossed his mind.
#39 - Overwhelmed
Never would he forget the feeling of what he claimed as his soul being forced to submit to the strength of Sephiroth.
#40 - Whisper
"Break away from her," a voice beckoned from inside of Kadaj, "break away, and you can live for yourself, not for the birth of another," but the voice was low and desperate.
#41 - Wait
Hidden away, a part of Sephiroth yet hidden away by him, the only thing to do was wait.
#42 - Talk
Idle talk was without purpose as communication was much more concise by way of the consciousness they all shared with their mother; yet for Kadaj alone, it was a way to escape the haunting voice and image of Sephiroth.
#43 - Search
How many times had he scoured his mind and the lands for an answer, hoping to find any solution that could rid him of his mother's control and his fate, in which he was to be sacrificed.
#44 - Hope
The two brothers relished in the thought of the second reunion, as they had come to call it, Yazoo grinning madly and detailing how elated their mother would be, Loz struggling to keep his voice steady as he joined in; Kadaj sat deep in silent, emotionless thought.
#45 - Eclipse
As he was forced to diminish, unable to be seen, heard, even felt, Kadaj felt as though Sephiroth had blocked him away, overlaying in such a way that Kadaj was just beyond the limits of reality.
#46 - Gravity
The theory was never proven wrong - what rises must, too, fall.
#47 - Highway
Oh, how he longed to live again - to stand, if for only a moment, on the wreckage-filled highway and defend himself from the vicious attack that he had faced there, smirking all the while with a superior look in his eyes - free from the reign that he had submit himself to as the vessel which Sephiroth now commanded.
#48 - Unknown
As people fear death, in a sense so, too, did Kadaj, though it was not so much that he would no longer exist - this was a comfort after the uncertainty of what would become of him while Sephiroth was again given life.
#49 - Lock
Kadaj was not allowed to reminisce in his own thoughts, often facing reprimand if he disobeyed, and was forced to keep these thoughts locked away.
#50 - Breathe
The simple feel of air filling his lungs thrilled Kadaj as he looked upon his new world.
