Title: When love's stolen from you
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Severus Snape / Lily Evans
Theme set:  Beta
Rating: G
Notes: Severus and Lily and how James did all he could, including using unsavoury charms to obtain Lily for himself. Of course, it's not canon, just an idea. My thanks to anyone who comments.

#01 - Walking:

Severus walks through the dell a tender breeze whispers; Lily - a haunting ballad he breathes her in; she fills his heart with deep warmth.

#02 - Waltz:

'The breeze moves the flowers as her fiery tresses waltz in her velvet steps,' Severus tells Lucius sitting by the Black Lake one spring, 'for Lily's the dream, which lives in my soul.'

#03 - Wishes:

Two souls sit under the moon's hoary beams, a shooting star glimmers across the velvet sky, and their wishes are secret to all even each other; and one day they hope, and long for a deep embrace.

#04 - Wonder:

In potions class their eyes meet, and Lily wonders why she wants to know more, and understand him.

#05 - Worry:

Afraid, Lily runs to her room missing class and angry from the pounding vision of Severus she can't erase.

#06 - Whimsy:

His charm of fays flying over a golden moon above his bed elevated into Lily's fair image hovering through his mind as the pixies danced.

#07 - Waste/Wasteland:

'It's a wasteland, empty and cold,' Severus told Lucius as he watched Lily Evans walk by in the great hall, 'for if I can't have her I feel I will never know happiness.'

#08 - Whiskey and rum:

'Getting drunk shan't solve your troubles,' said Dumbledore to Severus in a Hogsmeade pub, 'you won’t cut a good image for her if she sees you this way, and risk losing her forever.'

#09 - War:

His war of the heart raged on when his adversary entered the ring named James Potter, an shaggy haired boy who set his sights on Lily from the beginning.

#10 - Weddings:

Her dreams embraced the notion of marriage, yet two faces waned through her mind's eye, one of dark mystery and another of Merlin's mischief.

#11 - Birthday:

Severus's tears fall as pouring rain as her present falls to the muddy ground with the sight of she and James' embrace.

#12 - Blessing:

Confusion ruled her heart each night she'd lie in bed and think of Severus and his wet face in the shadows.

#13 - Bias:

Lily can't accept his proposal yet, for her feelings are torn between a man who she's never shared a moment.

#14 - Burning:

The sting of heated coals burn within when images of a shadowed soul float before me, his ebon hair blending with the cloaked night, and onyx eyes as deep wells forever melting my soul.

#15 - Breathing:

Sometimes she steps outside to escape into the dreams of ebon-eyes, and alabaster skin, his cautious caring smile, held back from rejection's fear.
#16 - Breaking:

He's breaking me with his hatred, his direct slander of Severus, I'm confused about who James really is, and if he's the one.

#17 - Belief:

He sits alone in the great Hall, and drifts into his thoughts, of how he's afraid to believe she loves him, the ugly one, the different one, the one they named Snivelus, he closes his dark eyes with the terror of awaking from this fantasy.

#18 - Balloon:

Like a hot-air balloon, reaching the heavens floating away from terra firma his hopes drift away after James places a charmed kiss upon her unsuspecting lips, alas Severus feels a warm stream fall down his face.

#19 - Balcony:

Before the Yule Ball, she stands upon the veranda lavish lace adorns her ball gown, a dream incarnate, and the only beauty Severus Snape's ever known, he watches her afar basking in his thoughts of how he'd try to make her his.

#20 - Bane:

'STOP - just stop,' Lily screamed,' James I'm not understanding your immense hatred for this man, it's unnatural, you saved him from the Whomping Willow, think back on how that was more important to you than all of this abhorrence - just STOP!'

#21 - Quiet:

In the noon's, spring breeze all is still, by the Black Lake where the lapping water flows with a ballerina's grace, as I think of you dear Lily.

#22 - Quirks:

He has his little idiosyncrasies, like his passion for the Dark Arts they're a part of him, ruling his pulse, I wonder what he'll become one day, hopefully mine, perhaps.

#23 - Question:

'Yes, I do, Severus,' Lily said with crimson lips, soft and calling, 'you knew it anyway, I know that much, and what's more, I'm relieved, now my confusion's gone.'

#24 - Quarrel:

He storms from the classroom, angry, puffing hard, flashing Lily's newer version of his potion through his mind, how it taunts him, he's been out done, but oh how he smirks when he recalls her emerald eyes smile.

#25 - Quitting:

'No I won't,' screamed Lily Evans at James Potter, 'I won't quit potions because of Severus, he's a genius with the brews, I need him, I mean I need to learn more from him,' she looked down.

#26 - Jump:

'There you go again, jumping to conclusions, James,' Lily said in anger, 'I know what you're thinking, you believe I love him,' she stopped because the words sounded like the truth.

#27 - Jester:
'I've been played a fool, Lupin,' said James, 'for she wears an idiot in her heart, and he will pay, if it takes a lifetime, I will find a way to stop him,' James vowed with twisting fury.

#28 - Jousting:

A joust of odious words is what James produced, misleading words with sharp edges, which cut like a well-honed sword, and her heart was breaking.

#29 - Jewel:

Lily holds the moon-jewel, given to her from Severus on Christmas, with passion caressing it with the pads of her fingers, and wondering if his skin felt as smooth.

#30 - Just:

When your heart is breaking under great strain of confusion it's hard to smile, it's difficult to gaze in the eyes of who you wonder could be a traitor to your soul, and you cry, so close to telling him why, just on the edge of the truth when you run and hide.

#31 - Smirk:

Feeling a bit playful and filled with fine Port Severus blurted out, 'I love you Lily Evans,' at the Hogwarts Ball, while Lily's lips smiled softly and she pulled him into the dance, closer.

#32 - Sorrow:

To think of him brings me sorrow when I remember how I yelled at him, for nothing, but a broken caldron, the picture of hurt in his eyes, stung me harder than any bee.

#33 - Stupidity:

'I will go to him, James you shouldn't have cursed him, ' shouted Lily, 'I've made my mind up now,' she stalked from the room as James looked angry and wondering what she meant by: 'making her mind up.'

#34 - Serenade:

She lay amongst the heather, as the temperate breeze seemed to sing to her heart, and she closed her emerald eyes in the blissful dream of Severus serenading her soul to sleep.

#35 - Sarcasm:

'Quell you snipping remarks about Severus,' shouted Lily, 'you disgust me, James he can't even walk by without your poisons barbs emerging,' she left the lake-bank in a huff.

#36 - Sordid:

He proudly walks into class knowing what they say, calling him names and speaking about his appearance, as he was a grimy dog, yet he smiles and sneers with the confidence his heart belongs to Lily a prize James wished he had.

#37 - Soliloquy:

Our worlds are as different as life can be, I'm darkness and she's the light, yet dear Lily makes me weep with joy, and sets me free, I adore her.

#38 - Sojourn:

A vacation for two, in the 'City of Lights' to kindle a fire, which burns and fuels our passions.

#39 - Share:

A new experience, yet everything he possessed he wanted to share with Lily, his information about their studies, his time, his heart, his love …

#40 - Solitary:

I touch the dewy heavens and taste honey kisses, through the misty swirling haze your lips smile - I awaken and realise I'm alone, and know my solitary life is still real.

#41 - Nowhere:

Sometimes I feel I'm no longer strong, and I wish for a deeper power, one which sweeps the horizon, and grabs what you need, I need her, I want her, I'm nowhere with out her.

#42 - Neutral:

Why do they fear something so powerful, which can make them stronger, and wiser, it's so faceted and lovely, the Dark Arts, I remain unflinchingly neutral and many think I'm an abomination by doing so.

#43 - Nuance:

They were partners in the new potion's assignment, and won the class distinction of the best, though they had the advantage of a well-oiled machine, considering how each understood every gradation of the other.
#44 - Near:

The hard shell he sports dissolves with her memory, as he clings to her recent picture through the starlit darkness, and wishes she'd return from her leave of absence from Hogwarts.

#45 - Natural:

Nothing about romance came naturally to Severus, for his emotions ran deeper than the ocean, yet when he'd set eyes upon her flaming-red hair and vibrant smile he'd lose himself to her charms, he was in love and could do nothing to prevent this.

#46 - Horizon:

As the horizon, smiles in crimson and yellow Severus's emotions coloured his heart with a yearning he feared he'd lose, as James started his trickery in his life.

#47 - Valiant:

Bolting through the Great Hall Severus Snape swallowed hard to confront James and Sirius, requesting James to fight him in a wizard's duel for Lily.

#48 - Virtuous:

When I look at her, I wonder how such a beautiful, lively woman can be in love with me, I'm a Slytherin, and she's a Gryffindor; no, I can hardly believe it, my Lily.

#49 - Victory:
A swift blow by a well-placed spell from Severus and James lay flat on his back, while Severus smiled with the victory of knocking the goody-goody off his feet and impressing his Lily, her beaming smile showed him that.

#50 - Defeat:
He lies in the night to the one who owns my heart, I fall in defeat to a man I will always loath, to James Potter for taking away the only truth in my shadowed days, for taking away my Lily.
