I'm only 3 weeks into school and I'm already wanting to be done. This semester has me really worried. I'm taking Intro to Med-Surg, Pharmacology, and Microbiology. Pharmacology is already a bitch because it requires so much math, and that's not my strong point. Micro has me worried because the freshman nursing students always take that in the summer, and I'm taking it now so I can finally get my Associate's Degree ( a year later, stupid people at CVCC). Anyway, that class is gonna be hard too, it's so much work. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, because I knew Nursing school wasn't going to be easy, I just want so badly to do well, and God knows I'm gonna work my ass off, it just feels like I could be doing better.
On the upside, we get to do observations in some of the units this semester. I get to observe at The Surgery Center, the OR(woohoo!) and at Radiation Oncology. I'm pretty excited about all that. For clinicals I'm on Diabetic Renal this semester, so that should be interesting. We get to give meds this semester, and that includes giving injections(heh heh heh). We're all kinda nervous about that, but that will start in February, so we'll have more time to practice our mad skills.
On another up note, I think I finally found an EMT class(woohooo!) It starts in March & it's through Campbell County, so I won't have to pay to take it from CVCC, which is totally fine with me. I wouldn't want to take it there anyway. Anyway, if all goes well, I'll be an EMT by June. I'm pretty stoked. I just need to get through this semester. I will take a B for all my classes and be totally happy.
Well, speaking of school, I should hit the books again and try to get some of this stress out of the way. Catch y'all later.
