WOW! ... so you talked to your parents like they were regular people. And the conversation went unusually well. Interesting. As I was going through my twenties I began to realize that my Mom & Dad were no longer Mom & Dad. They are regular every day people ... that Dad & Mom are just titles. And just by changing my perspective, it opened up a whole new realm of understanding and conversation. It evolved from mom & dad, to parents, and finally to advisers/story tellers which I like to call wisdom ( ... )

Thanks for the great words!

re: My parents... I stopped thinking of them as the MaD types. a while ago, and that helped us a lot back then - but occassionally, they do things that take me back to being a teenager... much like the weekend I was last down there. It took me a while to come out of, and they came out of it too, and it really was nice.

As for the brother... unfortunately, I don't think he will ever stop being an issue until I do change how I react - great visual on the Superwoman suit... I will have to remember that. And interestingly enough, I am occassionally read bits and pieces from Kiss My Tiara. Great book - and I happened to just pick it up today, and open it to reading about family dynamics! Ah, such great sassy advice on how to deal! Serendipity, I love it!

ps love the quote!

I am glad you had fun yesterday - I did too. And I'm interested in the pilates as well, was glad to overhear that little bit of conversation. My shoulder really does seem to be improving, so I have hope I'll be able to start working out again soon. Meanwhile, walks are good.

The mother's day present sounds perfect, and it's such a good thing that you finally got some resolution and understanding out of that. It's hard when conflict is in your family, especially when family is so important to you.

Mark My Words is a great name! Hee!

Isn't it tho? (A great name that is)

As for the pilates woman... funny story... Her hubby said hi to Nan, and she immediately asked, so, how do you guys know Heather? And the wife said "I started my website at the same time as her." And evil that I am asked her (when the occassion presented itself) "What site did you start?"

More details if you want to know... just ask.
