well, i made the trip. i flew out tuesday on some tiny ass plane. when we arrived in rdu, they dropped down the little steps from the plane and we had to walk out across the tarmac to the terminal. i didnt even know they still did that...
the trip back was... interesting. it involved nearly 1000 straight miles, 16.5 hours, 15 (est.) hours of delirium, quite a bit of caffeine and chips, a dog pissing on me, a bottle of hair dye, the realization that president putin had enough time to wake up and do whatever the hell he does in a day then fall back asleep (all in the course of our drive), and a budget rental truck that topped out at 70 on straight-aways, 72 downhill, and a kickass 50 on steep inclines.
