In Ames, Iowa this week at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival...I kind of lived in a dream world. BECAUSE:

You know how in dreams, you see tons of people from tons of different times in your life ALL at once?  And they never would normally meet in real waking life, but in your dream, they just DO? And it's always at some strange location you've never quite been to.  THAT is what happened to me.  I saw Drake friends, Black Hills Playhouse friends, High School friends, old acquaintances, NEW friends, and of course my current UMD friends. ALL at once. It was truly wonderful.   A few of those smiling faces I was SO fortunate to see...Jenna, Kate, Mara, Jake, George, Joey, Bearclaw, Cap'n, Shandi, Randy Niles, Tim Case, Bethany, Laura, Jared...I'm just listing off the top of my head, there were many more lovely faces too.

I also won a karaoke contest in Des Moines at Champs. HA! "I keep on fallin..iiiiiiiiiin and out of loovvee..." I couldn't have done it without my hot hot Drake friends there to back me up.  I LOVED seeing everyone...

I ended up advancing to semi-finals in the Irene Ryan acting scholarship audition.  (Top 35 out of around 320?) And that made me extremely grateful and really quite excited.  I had an absolute BLAST performing in semi-finals, I was proud of the work Tyler and I did up there.  And all the feedback we got from our judges made PERFECT sense, and I know what we could have done to bump it up a notch. So, really, it was a fabulous acting/learning/performing/adrenaline-pumping experience.

I won't discuss what I thought of the finals results.  Ahem.  What.

Summerstock auditions were nice too, I got a couple callbacks, one at Straw Hat Players in Moorhead and one at the Cincinatti Shakespeare Company (which I cannot do since I am not graduating).  I have no idea what will happen this summer, it's all sort of confusing and up in there air at this point.

I'm glad to be back here in DAluth. Back to reality, back to normal hours of sleep, back to classes, back to a normal routine...back to LIFE!  Love.
