Well. I honestly thought that I would never get the swine flu. But here I am. Day 4 in all of it's glory. Day 6 if you include the incubation period where I was probably contagious, but did not feel any symptoms.
Felt fine this weekend. Tim and I hosted yet again another amazing NX Absolute tournament. Sunday I felt fine, maybe til about the evening, I started feeling a tad bit sickly. But it felt like I was just getting another cold...so I didn't think much of it. Went to work on Monday, just coughing and coughing, but I thought it was only a cold, so I managed to stick through my whole shift. Later that night, I took my temperature. Hourly. It went from 99, to 100, to 101.3. All in that evening. Had Tuesday off from work, temperature was staying about the same, but still went to 102 at one point. Had someone take my Wednesday morning shift at work. Mike started to get my symptoms Wednesday evening.
Here I am at Thursday. Mike and I had an appointment at 9:15am. He asked us a lot of questions and poked around our stomachs, he said that he definitely thought we had swine flu, given our symptoms. Mike's was caught early enough to be put on some sort of flu medication. My doctor just told me to keep taking Tylenol and getting rest.
When Mike was being asked questions in the doctor's office...all of a sudden, I start feeling light headed. My sight began to go and I felt like I would faint. Possibly vomit and then faint. My whole body temperature rose to what felt like a thousand degrees, I began sweating pretty bad. This all happened suddenly. I remembered from the last time I was about to faint, that I had to put my head down in order to get the blood going back up to my head. Wasn't working all too well. Managed to ask the doctor for some water. I guess Mike was trying to talk to me, but I was unresponsive. I don't even remember him asking me anything, other than "Are you ok?" once. I don't remember the doctor going out to bring me water. All I remember was him briefing with Mike, and him handing me the water. It was the trippiest experience in the doctor's office ever. Thankfully, the water did help. Maybe I was just dehydrated.
Another crazy discovery: They weighed me first thing. I weighed 115...with reasonably heavy clothes on. That's kind of scary.
Weird thing for me though is that my temperature has reached over 102 degrees and I don't feel nauseas. I have never felt the urge to vomit at all, I just feel achey from all the coughing. Not that I'm complaining, I think vomiting is the worst. I just feel tired and achey, and every now and again, when I try to talk, it causes me to start a coughing fit. I'm either too hot or too cold, there's hardly any medium. I've been keeping myself busy with Bejeweled Blitz (which I discovered I suck at), Kingdom Hearts, facebook, Netflix, any other kind of net surfing. Anything just to keep my mind busy and not worrying so much about being sick.
Mike's symptoms started yesterday. He was given medication that I think he was supposed to take after eating food....but he took it and now I think he's go an upset stomach. Hopefully he will be fine, and I'm hoping his symptoms are mild like mine.
Anyways, I'm not going anywhere until Monday at least. I'm missing a lot of work (meaning no fat paycheck for me), I'm missing Joseph and Chad's Halloween Party. I'm missing my parents Halloween decorations in Bloomington (maybe anyways). It's just not a good week to be sick.
