Holy. Shit. Hands down best weekend ever. And I couldn't have imagined spending it with a better group of friends.
I was married Saturday July 11th, 2009 at 11am to my best friend and lifelong partner, Mike Blandford.
Several friends came to our rescue to make our wedding the best it could possibly be. CR was our Master of Ceremonies, Joseph played the flute when I walked down the aisle and also spent a crazy ridiculous amount of time making our wedding cake. Which was awesome:
It was also
jefflafave 's 19th birthday celebration. He was our ringbearer and did a fantastic job being a part of our wedding. He was also quite the trooper during all the parties. Jeff, you are awesome :)
I am happy to be merging with Mike's family. His mother and father are wonderful people, and I am very excited to have a brother-in-law, Dan, now (aka
platypuslord ).
Our wedding was an absolute success. From the start til the finish. The only truly embarrassing moments was first, the sand pouring ceremony when apparently I sucked at putting the substantial amount of sand in comparison to Mike's, and also, Mike's ring finger is very fat, so for the life of me, I could not shove that ring on his finger!!! Haha!
Everyone that I have talked to so far has told me that they had an amazing time and that they haven't been to a wedding quite as unique and fun as ours. It was my ultimate goal for my wedding to actually put myself aside and make sure that my guests were having the best times of their lives. I was always checking to make sure that people were laughing, smiling, conversing, and dancing. I am still glowing from this weekend. I am very much deeply in love with Mike, but this weekend also gave me a different, profound love for my new family and friends. This weekend was truly a bonding experience and I seriously am in debt to all of my amazing friends who made my special day the best day of my life.
On a side note, before I end this post, I want
brianho to know that I was thinking about him the whole time, and that my deepest condolences go out to him for having quite the opposite of a good weekend. I want him to know that his friendship is still very valuable to both Mike and I and if there is anything he needs, he can always call us.
