Who is this irrisistable creature who has an insatiable love for the dead?

This week was long and somewhat stressful, but this weekend is turning out awesome. Kay came down last night and picked me up from work. We ran an errand for Mom this morning, then hit the Uptown Diner for breakfast (which was amazing!). I showed her around Infinitea and we ran to Target for some supplies. Came home and watched Star Wars: A New Hope and part of The Empire Strikes Back before doing dinner with Jon at Don Pablo's. We'd never been there before and it's been ages since I've had sit-down Mexican, so we all had some serious food-babies. For the record, shrimp and chicken fajitas are phenom. Actually just the shrimp is phenom all on its own, too!

We got home around 7 and have been playing Magic ever since. Jon and I taught Kay and she immediately transformed into an epic-verbiage-wielding Morgoth figure. Tomorrow we are packing a picnic lunch and taking a hike around Hyland Lake Park. I am so excited! (They rent paddleboats! And there's geocaching! And...and stuff! AND LAKE! Eeeeeeeeee.) Then, I imagine, we will retire home for tea and Return of the Jedi until Kay has to leave for home.

And then it is back to the work week. Next weekend my mom is heading to Northfield to scatter Doug's ashes and will be staying with us Saturday night; that same night is the Owl City/Mat Kearney show in St Paul. Then August starts up with the Uptown Art Fair (and work because of it), and black belt camp in Maplewood State Park the second weekend.

I think that's all for now. Things are mostly good.

Oh yes, books. Finished The Oath, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, Outbound Flight, and am halfway through Empire (OSC).

ramble, movies, books, life update blaaah, schedule crap, food is f-ing wonderful, dorktitude
