Sick, Crazy Friday, STGAA, Young Justice, Spiderman

I have been blowing off STGAA responsibilities this week.

I have also been sick all week. One of our Salesmen at work was kind enough to come in last week and infect the rest of us...I'm still pretty upset at him. I spent the better part of the first week with a sore throat, and the tail end with no voice.

Tuesday anecdote: I opened my personal email to find 16 messages waiting. I never get more than 3 messages a day. I thought I had been spammed or something. It was Facebook birthday salutations. Thank you everyone!

Wednesday I spent triple-tasking. Mac side on Movi video conference and documents, RDP session into my work desktop to check emails and gather docs for an engineer's demo, VMware XP to VPN into a customer site and make modifications to their system. Triple-tasking is my limit and can't be done very long.

Today sucked bad. Customer keeps having issues with their call center system. I jumped in and flipped to the backup server to resolve an issue. Logs all agents out. I didn't tell customer. Customer flips out and I get chewed out. Then I get assigned two TAC cases. One for them because they're threatening to drop us as a customer if their buggy system doesn't get resolved immediately, and one for a different call center. Totally stressed out and it turned into a 9 hour day with a 15 minute lunch in the middle. Also costing me an hour of work time this weekend, and I have to continue working on their issues Monday morning. The short of it: it's a known Cisco bug, unresolved. All I can do is reboot servers and keep getting yelled at. Moral of the story: Cisco Telephony is a job that will make you work extra hours because Cisco has no quality control on their products, they just ship them without testing.

Started watching Young Justice. Some nice ideas. Not totally hooked on it yet or the random villains they're choosing. Just finished episode 13 of the Spectacular Spiderman. The newest incarnation where the characters have creepy large solid pupils. Not digging the artwork, but the characters have depth and at least all of them have had a moment to shine. Getting a kick out of the fact that Weisman's Gargoyles keep showing up in the backgrounds and that the voice actors from that show are random villains in this one. Great moment where Jameson tries to protect Parker from the Rhino. Another great one where Dr. Octopus won't let the villains attack Spiderman until the civilians get to safety. I like little touches like that. Not happy with the about-face on Eddie Brock...too sudden.

Finally starting to get my voice back...
