Here we go again!

We are trying to refinance our house now.  (I know, we just bought it.)  We have a lot of equity since we bought it from my Grandma.  I don't know if we will be able to do it though because we haven't occupied it for more than 6 months. (or one year depending on who you talk to.)  We have a lot of things we need to pay off and we could consolidate and pay more towards the house if we do. We had a Discover card that we just noticed they were charging us 29.99%!!! What the hell?  We called and they said we had a late payment and the APR goes up if you do that.  Holy crap it went from 10% to 30?!?! They were so kind and lowered it to 24.99%  for us.  At least if I only had one payment to pay I wouldn't miss anything.  I know it is not the ideal thing to do since the interest would last for 30 years if we did a mortgage that long.  I'm pretty sure we could pay a lot more though if we didn't have so much other debt to pay on.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone will be able to help us.  This economy is killing me!  I saw 2 really old (REALLY OLD) ladies riding motorcycles today.  I guess it is getting to them too!  That is the weirdest site to see...but kind of cool at the same time.  They do drive really slow on them though and that is kind of annoying.  Now my husband thinks maybe he should buy a motorcycle.  I said that wouldn't really do anything for us since he has tons of stuff that he has to drag to and from work every day.  He isn't exactly known for his common sense though. ;)
