As I suspected, after I posted
Jed in the Media, Part 1, I did indeed find a whole new slew of articles to link to. I'll make this quick, because I have a splitting headache right now and that makes me sad.
But since this involves Jed that makes me feel much better. Here we go!
Just a quickie from
Our Sports Central - it does, however, mention something important: Lowrie went 1-for-4 with three RBIs, twice knocking home his former Blue Rocks teammate and roommate Jacoby Ellsbury (2006) in a 5-3 win over the Cleveland Indians.
Yeah, I have my priorities.
And one from
South Coast Today - and I just have to get this beginning part: Jed Lowrie took the field before a roaring crowd at Fenway Park on Sunday night, the largest it had held since the end of World War II. He took his position, did his job and basked in the adulation. Well, basked is probably the wrong word. The ovation was for the national champion Boston College hockey team, and Lowrie was the live body summoned to catch one of the ceremonial first pitches.
What I wouldn't give to be a member of the BC hockey team right now. Damn.
Another quickie, this one from
Delaware Online - and it comes illustrated with little 2006 Jed, too!
And finally, one from the
Hartford Courant - and if you didn't know, Jed tied a record the other night: Lowrie had three RBI to tie the Red Sox's 61-year-old rookie RBI debut record held by Merl Combs. Lowrie's forceout in the fifth accounted for the first one.
That very important business aside, I'll probably go and get some rest now.
Oh, and I worked on Londinium this week for the first time since December! I typed up part of chapter 11 today - I feel so accomplished! I need to stop ignoring that damn book. I mean, I named the blog after it, so...yeah. Also, one of the main characters is named Dustin and he is not very tall (and he was created before I knew about Pedroia), so I should probably be more motivated.
Okay, it's definitely bedtime now.
And to close - when I was searching for where I put that picture, I discovered
the entry in which I found out Jed went to Stanford. Weird.
