Here you go, a very moist entry!

Just watched the first Democratic debate with
hanachan01. I have an inner satirist, so I sort of MSTed the entire thing, but I tend to be snarky no matter what I'm watching on television. I definitely have to parody Gravel's hand motions. I will admit that I tend to move my hands around when I talk, but not to that extent. He looked like he was doing a hand jive or the Macarena or something up there.

I watched three episodes of A Bit of Fry and Laurie today, and I have concluded that moist is Stephen's favorite word. He uses it in several of the sketches, and there is also a quote from Humphrey Lyttelton (see the Beeb's article where I found this quote here) to substantiate this. It concerns Stephen playing the game Straight Face on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue. One of Humph's favorite moments from the show was when "as only he could, Stephen Fry brought the house down with 'moistly.'" Additional evidence comes from a blog I found here. The blog's author started the post like this: "Disease. Not the funniest subject, you might think - but you'd be sadly and moistly wrong, as I hope the list below proves." An individual named Gilbert commented, saying the following: "Is the "moistly wrong" (first line, second sentence) deliberate or just wishful thinking? Or are you turning into Stephen Fry?"

I rest my case. Actually, I've never been able to hear a form of the word moist without thinking of Stephen Fry, and this has caused me problems in anatomy class. One girl said she hated the word moist, and our teacher and some of the other students began using forms of the word repeatedly and asking her why she disliked it so intensely. I sat there and laughed uncontrollably. (In all honesty, my obsessive, freakish fixation fascination with British comedians causes me to corpse in class rather often. But I love it. The problem is that I never conveniently have sandwiches on hand to hide it...)

comedy: hugh laurie, comedy: stephen fry, comedy: a bit of fry and laurie
