I was rather busy today - I spent the day with my friends, whom I hadn't seen in weeks - so this is a bit of a delayed post. We listened to most of the game together, which I didn't know we had won because for some reason we didn't listen to the end. Here's the day in bullets:
~ Got my friends to watch Oofuri. They are both hooked.
~ Went out to dinner with my friends and then drove past the place of Major Andre's hanging. (Yes, I'm a history major. Can you tell?)
~ Was teased somewhat mercilessly about stalking totally being in love with keeping an eye on Jed Lowrie. That was to be expected.
~ Drew Jed in the Stanford Marching Band uniform. (
The band is on the field!)
~ Discussed the bizarre concept of "New Josh." (Where has Old Josh gone?)
~ Had the wonderful mental image of Jed watching
Oobi late at night and giggling like a stoner. Will probably write/draw this.
~ Lastly, happy belated birthday to
misscalculation! Sorry I wasn't able to post this sooner...
Also, here's an
interesting piece from the Herald on the players' salaries. It's worth checking out. (And...what happened at that Dance Off? I am seriously disturbed. But I'm laughing anyway.)
(P.S. -
Dusty Brown and Brandon Moss for the win, baby!)
EDIT:
If Jed is seriously able to learn how to play all four positions in the infield, I will be astounded (but very, very proud): Jed Lowrie switched from shortstop to second base in the fifth inning of yesterday’s game against the Twins. It is a move that will be repeated this spring, because the Sox want to get Lowrie some experience at different positions, including third and possibly first base. “He hasn’t (played first) but (the organization feels) he has the bat to do it,” said Francona. “I don’t think he’s looked at as a utility guy. I just think it’s looked at more as if something happened to somebody, this kid might be able to come up and play.”
