I r teh addictz of internets

Today is an off-day, so I'll just share a few reasons why I love the internet.

You have to enjoy the fact that blogs you read can turn up baby pictures of the people on your favorite baseball team. Here's a nice set I came across on one of the blogs I regularly read today - I'd already seen the one of Jacoby Ellsbury and one of the Varitek ones, but there are others here, too, and they're adorable! The first one of Josh Beckett makes him look like a total dork...but don't tell him I said that. The closest thing I've been able to dig up recently is images of some of the younger players when they were in college, and whilst Pedroia looks like he's still in middle school or at the most high school in one of them, it's not the same thing.

Another reason? YouTube. Behold the Rally Millar:

Still another reason: webcomics.
hanachan01  and I finally have things set up for our story to officially become a webcomic, so you can keep up on our progress both at
konbini_comics  and here, at our new page at smackjeeves.com. We'll keep you posted, of course, but it's nice to see progress, isn't it? Londinium seems to have stalled (I need to learn how to evenly divide my time between the two most important Dustins in my life, apparently), but I'm still working on chapter nine there.

Finally, there's internet memes. Honestly, I wouldn't have just bought the song I'm listening to on iTunes right now if I hadn't discovered this very famous Flash movie in seventh grade or so. That was the same day I came across the notorious Formula One Car Insanity Test (which I have yet to pass once, by the way). To this day, one of the ways I test my original characters' senses of humor is by metaphorically making them take the Insanity Test - namely, I look at them and speculate over whether or not they'd pass it or not. For a Londinium example, since it involves holding a deadpan, it's something Basil can consistently pass with flying colors, but his working class partner in crime (Mr. Dustin Thatcher for the unacquainted) doesn't stand a chance.

Want to try it yourself? It's right here. Have fun!

...you know, I have a feeling that my mind's going to wander and start thinking about the Insanity Test vs. my baseball team. Sorry, Papelbon, but there's no way you could do it. I'm just sure of it.

EDIT: I finally made myself a Pedroia icon, yay! It's from when he played at ASU. The original picture can be found here.
