Wow. Wow, wow, wow.
We were down 8-1 at the end of the top of the fourth. We ended up winning 16-10. How amazing is that?
More importantly, how the hell did we do it? Well, in the bottom of the fourth, we came back for four more, adding them to a home run from Jacoby in the third. Three more came in during the fifth inning, although Tampa Bay had tacked an extra run on, so the score was 9-8 at the end of the inning. It was the sixth inning, though, where the game broke open.
The first batter up for the Sox that inning was the hit machine that goes by Dustin Pedroia. I was watching the game on Gameday, which I have actually developed a bit of a superstition about concerning Dustin's at-bats. If I minimize Gameday, he hits better, so I minimized it and got back to my cryptography homework. I maximized it again a few minutes later to find that Dustin had tied the game up by knocking the ball over the Monster. That's right, he hit his seventh home run of the year. I then proceeded to fawn over him and loudly declare him to be the AL Rookie of the Year whilst the Sox had a six run inning, three of the runs coming off of a bases-clearing triple from Youkilis. They added two more in the seventh via home runs from Papi and - get this - J.D. Drew, and whilst Tampa Bay did score once in the ninth (off of Gagne), it didn't really matter. 16-10, can you believe it? I'm not sure I can quite yet...

I'm watching ESPN right now, even though I watched it last night for a couple of hours already. I just can't get enough of this one. To make things better, on Baseball Tonight they actually said some wonderful things about Pedroia outside of the game summary. I've said this in several of my latest posts here, but he is the Rookie of the Year.
And as if things couldn't get any better, according to Empyreal Envirions you can now buy Hideki Okajima's theme song on iTunes. Go on, you know you want to. I did it! (And don't tell me you didn't know he had a theme song - he's had it for weeks now...)
EDIT: When I left to go watch the live-action version of Battle Royale with my college's Japan Club tonight, we were losing 4-3. I got back to find out we had won 5-4 on a home run from Papi. My full game report can be expected tomorrow, as it's a bit late right now, but yay for winning!
