Well, it's official. The Red Sox have become my fandom.
For the first time last night, I began imagining the players interacting with one another off the field (probably because I read about how Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz are roommates and friends) and various things they could do. I haven't slid into the realm of fanfiction yet - I generally don't like making up stories about real people - but as far as drawing goes, I've been going nuts. Today in one of my classes I caught myself sketching Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz, and I've thought about a short comic thing I could draw involving Papelbon and the slutter (which, for those of you who don't know, is
a pitch he invented that is a combination between a slider and a cutter - get your mind out of the gutter!).
Speaking of Papelbon, apparently
he's got a segment on FSN now. It's not just a segment, though - it's a highly entertaining segment. It actually makes me forget about
this commercial series he did...
In unrelated news, I have discovered a small problem that will affect Butterflies and Hurricanes (formerly known as the NYC Music Story).
There is already a band named Zenobia, which means we will have to rename one of our musical groups.
hanachan01 and I will discuss this and figure it out in the near future, but once we've got things worked out we'll let you know.
In the meantime, I have been in the process of uploading my Sharpe screencaps to Photobucket. A long time ago, I uploaded the first set of seven from Sharpe's Rifles, and I was therefore able to delete those files from my computer to save space. I never finished, so sets 2 through 7 are still on my machine at the moment. I have uploaded set 2 and am currently uploading set 3 as I type this. Hopefully I'll someday be able to link you all to them (because Sharpe is a wonderful thing).
The game starts at 7:05 tonight, so I probably won't post anything about it until tomorrow. Until then, I suppose...enjoy the videos!
EDIT:
I am very, very proud. He is the AL Rookie of the Year, I'm serious! (P.S. - Papi has the night off, so Pedroia's batting third. Does anyone with a certain knowledge of anime want to make a
Paranoia Agent joke here?)
EDIT 2: Eh, we lost 1-0 in what was perhaps the slowest and most uneventful game of the season. Hopefully both teams will put on more of an offensive show tomorrow...I honestly don't think I'll even be able to write anything about the game tomorrow, so we'll just call the whole thing off.
