Adventures in Home Maintenance

Last year in our school-owned apartment, soprano_no_eiji and I had to fix this one drawer about 1500 times because its front kept falling off. We repaired it with crazy glue and a hammer meant for escaping a car sinking into a lake that my grandmother bought me for Christmas last year.

So far, we've been in our non-school-owned apartment for less than two weeks, and the oven decided to act up on me. It's a gas stove, and when I went to make my lunch today half of the four burners refused to turn on. It turned out to be the pilot light, which I had to run out to buy matches to fix.

I'll be completely honest - I was nervous relighting the burners because there was some gas in the kitchen. Knowing my luck, I was going to cause a small explosion in the kitchen or something. Except I didn't.

So now I get to sit and enjoy my Slurpee from 7-Eleven instead of worrying about blowing things up. That and hide from the Class of 2014 as they go through Orientation - not that I don't like them, but it'll be so crowded today that it'll give me sensory overload. When did I get so old?

Slurpeeeeeee. I'm so addicted to these things. It's terrible.

Okay, Matusz start tonight! Eeeeee! He's been pitching significantly better as of late, which I'm really pleased about. It's so nice to see him finally turning it around and remembering that he's a good starter. Confidence is everything for a pitcher.
