I have a crush on a minor leaguer. Crap.

His name is Reuben Mills Rogers, and he's currently playing for the Hagerstown Suns. If he makes it to the Show, he'll be on the Nationals unless traded.

He was recently called up from the GCL Nationals, and he was acting as the first base coach for the first few innings of the game. When third baseman Stephen King (no joke, that's the kid's actual name) was pulled because of a finger injury, he took over at the position. He's a natural shortstop, and it showed when he played third, but he's still young and he'll have plenty of time to learn the position if he has to.

He was walked the first time he batted. He smiled when he reached first base. It was very Jed-like and it melted me.

Hagerstown's last home games are this weekend. soprano_no_eiji and I have tickets, given to us by a nice couple who couldn't attend because they had a wedding to go to. So we'll be there on Saturday. Now, I'm going to try to talk to this kid. I'm a little nervous that I'll panic and not seem like myself or something. I've never been good at talking to boys to begin with, so I don't know what'll happen here. But hey, what do I have to lose here, right?

Coaching first base...

Postgame. The Suns won with a four-run eighth after trailing for most of the game.

This is not good. Like, really, really not good. Grrrrr, cute boys.
