Uhm...

Yeah...let's talk about baseball today, because Marco didn't finish again and every time I have to write about that it depresses me. Infineon is his place, too, so you'd think...

The Red Sox have not been depressing me, though, so I'll talk about them for a bit. They now have a lovely lead over the Yankees, who they play Tuesday. They have a day off tomorrow and the Yanks don't, so they'll be the better-rested team, too. If the Yankees lose tomorrow, the Sox go into the three-game series with an eight-game lead. That's more like it!

How'd they get there? Well, they swept the other Sox (the ones in Chicago that need to use the bleach when they go in the washing machine - okay, bad pun). The Yankees have conveniently struggled in Detroit, as the Tigers have won two of three so far there and hopefully will win tomorrow, as well. Thanks, Detroit, and thanks to Sam Hornish Jr., as well, because he's a Detroit fan from what I've heard.

Oh, and Dustin Thatcher Pedroia was featured today on the site because he got the single that blew the game open! Now you, too, can witness his incredibly awkward swing that he only has because he's so short! The video is here. You should be able to find the link to it right at the top of the article. I absolutely adore that swing. I find it both cute and kind of funny (although I know that if I played, I'd probably have a similar swing because I'm rather short myself).

Apparently he pulls Thatcher-esque faces when he's pleased, too. (Incidentally, that picture cracks me up so bad every time I see it.) He has to be Thatcher's clone or something. Now I need to work a scene into one of the Londinium books where Thatcher plays cricket so he can swing awkwardly and play the closest fielding position to second base that he can...I've been teaching myself how to play cricket, actually, so I'm getting there. Hopefully I'll have the game down perfectly soon - I need it for a project I've been working on that involves some of the grandchildren of the main characters in Londinium during World War I.

...right, I'm obsessed with this. I'll be like this until October, so get used to it...
