Got my schedule mostly worked out! I just have to hand in my preregistration sheet and all's well.
My basic course layout looks like this right now:
Fall 2010
AFS 230 - MW 2:10-3:25
Edu 225 - TF 11:25-12:40
CWES 421 (seminar) - T 1:10-4:00
Spring 2011
History 244 - MW 7:00-8:15
History 271 - TR 2:35-3:50
CWES 350 - TR 6:30-7:45
History 425 (seminar) - W 1:10-4:00
Note the absence of classes on Friday my second semester. I hear from both
soprano_no_eiji and
c_for_cinephile that this is a good thing when one is working on one's thesis (they both pulled that scheduling trick off).
Yes, there is a total overloading of military history courses in there, especially in the spring, but that's me, so...yeah. My first two courses in the fall cover two of my requirements for interdisciplinary studies, and the third one is my Civil War seminar. In the spring, there's one history course to cover some other liberal arts requirement this school has, and the rest are military history/Civil War courses.
This basically means lots and lots of reading and writing. It's why management majors have lives and history and science majors don't. Oh well!
A couple of college baseball notes, because that's my favorite sport in the world:
~ Stanford has
an article mentioning where some of its former players are during Spring Training. One of them has mononucleosis. Guess who that is? (I love you, you genius. Get well soon so you can show them all why you were the 2004 Pac-10 Player of the Year!)
~
Pac-10 conference play starts this weekend, at least for Stanford and USC. I'm not sure on the others, but I get the impression that they'll be picking it up right around now, too. Omaha or bust, everyone! Right now ASU looks ridiculous, and UCLA's not too far behind. (Stanford has an overall better record than Cal, which is probably the most important stat on there.)
~ Because I know everyone loves spending money on college baseball crap, the Pac-10 store is actually
advertising for it right on the front page. This is not good for me. Do not let me get Stanford ANYTHING (and do not let me
put a 4 on anything if they're selling jerseys).
I...think that's it. Happy Friday!
EDIT: No Stanford replica jerseys. My wallet rejoices.
EDIT 2: Oh, Gameday, already fucking things up!
This pitcher shall henceforth be known as One-balls McClung. (Sorry,
meril. Seth deserves better.)
