I heart Pedroia, part II

Jun 02, 2007 16:20

There are some eerie similarities here.

This article had something that I just had to point out. Todd Claus, a minor league manager, described Pedroia like this: "He's five-foot-nuthin', a hundred and nuthin', and he's all baseball player."

In reality, Pedroia and Thatcher are very close in height - Pedroia has been listed as 5'8"-5'9", and Thatcher is about 5'7"-5'8". Could someone tell me how tall Hoffman is, whilst I'm off on this tangent?

In addition, Pedroia's bat has come alive lately - he's been downright excellent. I'm watching the Sox-Yanks game right now, and he's already got a hit under his belt (which means he has a twelve-game hitting streak going, although since Youk has a longer one right now he's been going unnoticed). And he's creepily similar in age to Thatcher, too - this is probably the scariest coincidence I've witnessed in years.

But I am enjoying it very, very much.

EDIT: According to IMDB, Hoffman is 5'6.75", although other sites are conflicting that and saying he's no more than 5'5.5". Either way, this further convinces me that you cannot be tall and be named Dustin at the same time. It doesn't happen.
