I'm a survivor, apparently

Today an EMT thought I was dying.

I wasn't, actually. I've reenacted many times before, and I wasn't even wearing the corset today - I was perfectly fine. Yes, I was sweating, and therefore I had to wipe my forehead a lot. And the reason I may have seemed a bit dizzy? I didn't have a real lunch. I drank plenty of water and made sure to limit my ( Read more... )

Get this. I flipped back and forth between the Stanford/Florida State game and the Sox/Reds game right up until Stanford was in the bottom of the eighth. Then I had to go hang out with the woman who was my babysitter since I was born and is basically now like my grandmother and came back... to find out that Stanford scored 11 runs in the ninth.

BOO.

Ouch, you missed it? I didn't get to see them play, either, so we're in the same boat there...

I did just catch the highlights on ESPN, and they were pretty. I kind of liked the Buster Posey pitching part - that amused me.

I didn't get to see any of the last inning--I couldn't see Buster pitch! (dies)

Oh well. There are more games. :)

Awww, that's sad! I only caught him on Sportscenter later that night...he really wasn't the best pitcher in the world, to be honest, which works for Stanford.

(Oh, I noticed that you mentioned Joey August in one entry a few days ago...there's a story on that site somewhere about how Jed hit him in the leg with a home run. It's hilarious.)

Glad you're okay. Oh and I read about the Rangers guys going on the tarp. That's adorable. I wish more people would do that. Oh and I wonder how Pedro reacted when Trot entered the clubhouse. He probably was all "TROT!!!" and huggy and shit. Or he was in his Zen Starting Pitcher Mode. Not sure exactly. I'm looking forward to seeing this whole era of Trot and Pedro, no matter how short lived it may be.

Aww, thanks! I really wasn't that sick...but the EMTs seemed bored, so maybe they just wanted something to do. I loved seeing them on the tarp! I hope they show it on Baseball Tonight or something - it was so cute!

I'll be sure to watch a lot of Mets games to try to catch something...I'll have my camera ready if I see anything! (The Tek-Pedroia thing was cute today, too...I'd love to see something like that.)

Ahh gotta love it when they overreact on stuff just out of boredom. Good times, good times ( ... )

It was just..."Ooh, that girl is wearing a long-sleeved Victorian dress! She will probably pass out! Let's do something so we don't have to sit here!" The more I look back on it, the funnier it was...they even tried to walk me to my car!

We got a huge amount of thunderstorms here earlier, so it's definitely possible! It was just crazy...I'll definitely keep my fingers crossed for everything to go okay, though! (And I wouldn't mind if it rained for a bit in Cincy, too, if only to see Manny go on the tarp or something.)

...those are both really cute, actually! Especially the first one! I really hope I see something sweet like that when Trot starts working up here...I think Pedro may have a start tomorrow, too, so if Trot is called up for the doubleheader...

You will probably die of jealousy to hear this, but one of my AOL pals, who by the way is a budding Sox fan, happened to BE AT THE STANFORD GAME yesterday! :-O

No way, are you serious? That's just AMAZING! It was a fantastic game, too! (I have decided that someday I have to go to the CWS. ...Someday.)

Yep, I'm serious. She lives in Omaha and goes to CWS games fairly frequently. She said something about them scoring 11 runs in the 9th (I think). BTW, I've given her a few of the more essential Sox links (Texy, Piney, Ian and the major media), so she may be joining us eventually.

She's right - they did score 11 runs in the ninth. It was crazy! And ooh, you have? That's great! (I wish I could gamethread more often, but I've been too busy lately...grrrr.)
