Wow, I've been busy! Let me just sum up my Saturday and Sunday really quickly, and then we'll talk about what wondrous thing arrived in the mail today.
Saturday was very nice, actually - we went to a sushi bar for Mihashi's birthday. First, though, we made a stop at Kinokuniya, which is a Japanese bookstore. I somehow managed to stay under budget whilst buying eight - count 'em, eight - volumes of Oofuri.
I spent sixty-one dollars on you, Mihashi. Happy birthday. (I have owned volume 1 for several months, which is why it looks so beat up...)
Sunday was spent in the city - I caught 39 Steps, which was awesomely funny and should be seen by everyone who can. It's based on a Hitchcock film of the same name; the film was supposed to be serious, but the play certainly is not. The entire cast is comprised of four actors in total, and they play multiple roles. It's really rather impressive. I then sat and watched the Mets pummel the Yankees with my family. That was rather enjoyable, I have to say!
And now for today...I picked up the first volume of Prince of Tennis just to see what it was all about, and I love what I've read so far. But more importantly...
I am now the proud owner of
the best video game ever made. And I love it.
EDIT:
Any mention of Yu Darvish is a good mention of Yu Darvish.
