Busy girl!
Oh my (say in best George Takei voice please), where have the past few months gone? Quick catch up, no pathetic grovelling for lack of input and onto the smut! I mean, fic... YAY! \o/
I had a back operation at the end of April - they removed the best part of a disc which was doing unpleasant things to my spinal cord, sciatic nerve and other neurological thingamajigs. Ten days laying pretty much flat on my back followed by six weeks of uber careful and another six weeks of 'yeah, yeah, I *am* being careful, honest', and things are pretty darn good.
Yes, I still get back ache, but it's flint flash next to the roaring fires of hell I was in. Who needs a full complement of discs anyway? Pah, overrated, that's what I say. And I have the damnedest brass topped walking stick, complete with tiny test-tube brandy flask inside the handle. Not that I need it, but I like to keep it to hand, just because.
We're renovating a house. Well, a house, more like a little two bed dormer bungalow. But we're putting a whacking great big extension on the side, adding a garage, study and dining room downstairs, with four bedrooms upstairs, so suddenly it's got six bedrooms. How much awesome is that? Bloody expensive, mind, so we're doing a lot of the work ourselves, but it's fun. And messy.
I'm just finishing an Open University course, A217 Introducing Religions, which has been fascinating. And in a couple of weeks, I start two more, A363 Advanced Creative Writing and A287 Reading Classical Latin. And no, I don't know why I chose Latin except I always regretted that I never went to a good enough school that taught things like Latin. So I'm going to learn it now. My eldest thinks I'm tapped. *no comment*
So I need to pack up the house I'm living in - no we're not living in the other place whilst building, that would be too much insane for even me to contemplate - so we're surrounded by stacks of stuff and boxes and OMGWTF is that? I am officially a pack rat, and books and yarn are my weakness. I need some 12 step program I think.
