notes for the year

Jan 05, 2008 15:17

The air today is heavy and still, and for the first time this year it isn't raining. I decided to make the most of the blue sky peeking through cotton wool clouds and walk up Warrigal Road to return the DVD. It's the first time in a while that I haven't started a new year with a list - sometimes they were resolutions, other times just a checklist of things I wanted to do in the year. I've already started a compiling another sort of list - a list of things that I did/will do in 2008 that I'd never done before.

Here's what it looks like, as of 05/01/08:
- played poker till 5:30 am (and won both games, might I add)
- carried a week-old baby
- visited a LAN party consisting of 10 computers and boys (i hesitate to call them men even though many are married with children) shouting and killing one another in cyberspace
- picked up 2 French guys from the airport, drove them down to their accomodation at the coast and went grocery shopping
- got an air ticket to Rome with my name on it

So far it seems 2008 is shaping up pretty well.
