Bum-ba-dum

I have realized that I haven't checked my friends page on here since, what?.. Friday? And I guess I really should've read the entries posted on Saturday, in particular. So... I wrote a note to self. This note (on a green sticky - fuuun..) quickly escalated into a letter to the editor for our school newspaper.

Our lastest issue included an article by a somewhat likeable person proclaiming "Blogging a waste of time, energy". She cited the usual complaints: the airheads who post pop music lyrics as 'meaningful,' those who make their blogs into detailed daily journals, the general subject of crushes and love, quizzes, and joking about "deep thoughts." Okay, so I'm guilty of the quizzes. Not too much, though. Most of this is stereotypical bullsh*t that I hardly ever encounter when making my own rounds.

So... Yeah. It was 1 A.M. I don't really know, at this point, if it turned out bitchy or reasonable. I'm posting the first bit, but if anyone cares to read the rest, you're welcome to request it.

(Oh, and thenkies to those who did the Nohari/Johari windows! Much love for you.)

Note to self: Read blogs.

Blogs are not all, in fact, festering angst dumps that nobody wants to hear. They are personal bulletin boards where people post events and thoughts that are important to them. They are a good way for those subscribed to learn about their friend and keep up with the person's life.

Some posts, some blogs, are entertaining. Thoughts on the whole world, and information, can be amusing to people, even if they don't know the author. Other people's opinions are good to hear, too, in general.

Yes, there are the posts, and even entire blogs, that are daunting blocks of text full of strong emotions about things that maybe don't matter as much as the author makes them out to be, but so what? If it's written by your friend, and you want to support that friend, you can slog through it and show support, or scan for a basic understanding and type a blanket 'friendly' reply. If you find it tedious, don't read it. If you don't care, then why are you even at that site, reading that blog? The internet didn't shove it in your face. Did your friend tell you to read it? Then they value your opinion. Oblige them.

... Looking at the sticky now, it would seem that these paragraphs are the reasonable ones. The last two paragraphs are me verbally attacking those who put down blogs and a concluding paragraph. >.>;
