I've started a new piano piece. It's the first (of three) Mouvement perpetuel by Poulenc. It's so fun to play! The left hand has the same phrase throughout the entire piece, and the right hand does these awesome leaps. My piano teacher was so amazed I could reach that far (octave and a third, IIRC)...

Yeah, I went to district competition today. Got 7th chair. Georgetown Middle School's ghetto. God, the gym must've been like, 40 degrees. Every other clarinet sucked. I'm currently making a conscript. It's an abjad that can be written three different ways: Connected, like arabic, Alphabetic (probably not the right word, but w/e), written only with each letters isolated form, and Handwriting, what most people (if there were folks that actually wrote it >.>") use: the first and last letters of a word are connected ( Read more... )

lol. I'm "learning" Dutch from this dinky Teach-Your-Self book. Pfft. Dutch orthography is righteous. Any language with the trigraph "ouw" is a winner for me.

So, yeah, she's Aygul Ulkenbaeva, a Kazakh dombra player. She plays this awesome song on one of the Silk Road CDs called "Balbyraun". I scanned it directly from the booklet that came with the CD, thus the somewhat annoying pointillism. Photo tooked by Cloe Drieu.

Yesterday I had a filling in one of my molars. The most annoying part was the anesthesia which numbed half my mouth for a couple of hours. Not very fun.
