I have so much writing to do.
But like, zero ability/inclination to actually do it. I wrote ~100 words today. yayyyyy.
In lieu of my own work, have some fic that other people wrote.
1. Like Luggage of Some Departed Traveller, by britomart_is. For Big Bang, Sam/Dean/Jess.
I thought this was really stupendous. I am a sucker for polyamory in general and the post-apocalyptic setting was perfect for the inevitable Wincestuous angst. The relationship buildup between Dean and Jess is great, and the rebuilding of canon events in a different universe is very well-done.
2. Unique, by claudiapriscus. For...one of the two crossover BBs, not sure which one. Gen, crossover between SPN and Dexter.
So, one of my favorite canons with SPN is Criminal Minds, because it works so perfectly - a show about people hunting down serial killers and a show about people the authorities believe to be serial killers. They fit together perfectly! A Dexter crossover had never occurred to me, and now I am wondering why, because it fits together just as perfectly, but in a much darker way - the show about people authorities believe are serial killers with a show about a sociopath who kills serial killers. Great premise, really well-done. I've only seen Dexter a few times, but the internal monologue seemed spot-on.
3. Let Not the Sun Go Down by lexicale. J2 AU.
Um...okay. IDEK, I clicked on this thinking it would be pure id!fic. I like the animalistic!boys trend, and I was like, okay, cat!boys? I'll give it a shot. Then I saw it was 25 parts long and realized it couldn't possibly be pure porn. And as it turns out, there's hardly any porn at all. What there is is some pretty spectacular world-building - our modern world, but with the addition of werecats. Jensen is the alpha of a pack. Jared was raised by humans. Since it's a J2 story, it's not a spoiler to say they figure it out, but the story along the way is great and completely sucked me in. BTW, there is implied (non-graphic) mpreg.
I haven't read many BBs yet! Which ones should I read? It's so easy to get behind and never catch up! (I have friends' BBs from LAST YEAR that I still totally intend to read. /o\)
