WHY BE SMART WHEN YOU CAN BE DUMB?
I am the events coordinator for a student organization. We agreed to help out the school with a speaker event that is related to our organization's mission. BUT this is the SCHOOL'S event, and not ours. We're just being nice by helping them out. The school office that's running the event asked me to send out a school-wide email reminding people about the event. To attend the event, you need to sign up electronically. I made this clear in the email I sent out. What did I get? Two emails: one asking me to sign them up for the event, and one asking me to DEsign them up for the event because the emailer is sick.
Look, people. I am a student, just like you. I think my sig file actually makes that pretty obvious. Do you really think I can get into your school account and sign you up? Why would you think I would want to waste my time doing that when I could be ranting about how dumb you are on LJ? Do you even WANT me to have that capability?
HOW ABOUT LET'S READ THE DIRECTIONS NEXT TIME, PEOPLE.
And I didn't want to help with this event at all because I am busy and have a Russian test tomorrow, etc., but I sent out an email to the rest of the board asking if they could help and NO ONE RESPONDED. ARGH.
I'm afraid I have skin cancer. And I'm uninsured.
Also, I want a pretzel.
