DG was sitting on her bed with newly-christened Wyatt, pressing kisses to the girl's tummy and over-exaggerating the 'mwha' sound. Wyatt's little hands and arms waved around, her eyes bright and she was smiling away.

It had been a rough couple of days, and DG was rather glad for a distraction of just the two of them. She heard laughter and turned her head toward the door, eyes narrowed.

Jeb was leaning against the doorway, looking absolutely drained, but smiling. Okay, really, he was laughing at her, but she didn't call him on it because she probably did look like an idiot.

"She's not old enough for a zerbert," DG explained, reaching for the baby's tiny hand and kissing her again.

"Do I want to know?" Jeb asked with a tired smile. DG turned and made a face which made him laugh. "I can't sleep," he informed her with a frown.

"Seems to be a lot of that goin' around," DG informed him, pointing to Wyatt and nodding him into the room. He moved over to the bed and leaned down, placing a hand on the baby's tummy.

"Hey, stranger," he said quietly and Wyatt smiled as her eyes moved to the familiar sound. Jeb smiled again and picked her up so that he could give her a proper hug. Closing his eyes, Jeb stood still for a moment, his cheek pressed Wyatt's tiny bald head.

DG smiled, knowing that their simple habits had not only stuck with her, but with Jeb. He stepped around the bed and sat down on 'his' side, shifting Wyatt to the center of his chest as he lay down. DG scooted over and laid her head against his shoulder and reached for Wyatt's tiny fist, laughing as the girl tried to push herself up.
