Mackie stood at the door of WENN for a good minute after Angela left, staring at the frosted glass. Finally, Mackie's eyes closed and his head turned slightly. "Thank you," he said in a low tone, "for what you said."
Behind him, Hilary was leaning against the corner of the wall. Nudging herself to a proper posture, she smiled and shrugged as he turned. "Well, the greatest actresses," she trailed off, as if there was some well-known quote.
"But, I find acting is much easier when I believe what I'm saying," she smiled, then leaned to kiss his bald head.
