"You stupid, stupid idiot!," Catherine shouted. She let out a frustrated huff and didn't feel any better. "Idiot!" She shrieked, feeling more angry as each moment passed. A few feet away, Grissom was stepping away from Sid Goggle's body, taking care not to step in anything that might be collected as evidence.
"Cath," he started, hands raised slightly, as if he needed her to see he was unarmed. They both knew full well he wasn't armed, of course.
"Don't!" Catherine said, pointing at him with rage in her eyes. "Don't you dare!" Grissom winced and took another step closer as Catherine moved back to make room for the FBI agents streaming down the steps behind her.
"Cath," he whispered, getting closer to her as the FBI agents started barking orders at them. He made a face, to let them know he'd heard them, then turned so that his back was to them. "Thank you," he nodded.
Catherine rolled her eyes and shook her head. "I should shoot you, too," she hissed, then leaned forward and gave him a quick, hard kiss. She pulled back just as quickly, and pointed at him. "Shoulda let him kill you. Stupid-"
"Idiot. I know."
