Cal moved down the hallway and looked into each of the rooms hiding behind glass doors and windows, clearly in search of something... or someone. He spotted Loker coming around a corner with a folder in his hand and Cal held up a hand.
"Loker!" Eli looked up from the file as Cal sprinted toward him and waved to the hallway behind him. "You seen Foster around?" Eli shook his head and turned slightly to glance in the direction of the break room as he tried to remember when he last saw Gillian.
Torres appeared in the hallway behind Cal and Eli leaned around him. "Ria, have you seen Gillian?" Cal spun around on his heel as Ria joined them and nodded slightly.
"Yeah," Ria replied and took the folder from Eli. "Said she had to go out for a few minutes."
"She left?" Cal asked. Ria lifted her eyes from the page for a moment and nodded. "When did she leave?" Ria dropped the folder to her side and gave Cal a look as she tried to read him.
"Fifteen minutes," she finally replied with a shrug. She hated when he gave her that look. "Emily was at the desk. Figured they were going to talk-" she trailed off, turning as Cal pushed past her.
"Hold down the fort!" he shouted and threw up a hand as he hurried down the hall. As he moved farther away, both Torres and Loker stared after him in confusion before Eli remembered that the folder was his and stole it back.

Once Cal got outside, it only took him a few moments to find Emily and Gillian. The girls were sitting on a park bench across the street, eating ice cream cones. Cal moved past the vendor on the corner and dodged around a group of businessmen waiting for the light to change before they crossed.
"Nice use of the crosswalk, Dad," Emily said as Cal stepped onto the curb and moved over to join them.
"That's jaywalking, y'know," Gillian mumbled as she took a bite of the cone in her hand. Cal gave her a look and moved to Emily's other side, nudging the girl closer to his best friend.
"You didn't wait for me," Cal whined and looked between Gillian and Emily. Holing up a hand, he pointed between them. "Where's mine?" he asked, eyeing the half-eaten ice cream in his daughter's hand. Emily held the cone up and waved it slightly.
"Snooze you lose," Gillian remarked, looking down the street to hide her smile. Cal made a face as he pulled the cone from Emily's hand and she leaned back with a grin.
"Hope you get sick," Cal jabbed as he started in on the cone. Emily simply rolled her eyes.
The three of them sat on the bench for another minute before Emily pushed herself up and announced: "I'm getting another one. Gillian?" Gillian shook her head and smiled as Emily nodded and headed for the corner.
As Emily stood there, waiting for the light to change, Cal held what was left of his cone in the air. "To Sophie."
Gillian raised her own cone and repeated: "To Sophie."
