today i taught kylie (my five-year old neighbor) how to sing part of "the hallelujah chorus."
the conversation:
kylie-"haaalleloolah!"
me-"hallelooYAH."
k-"halleloolah?"
me-"oy."
k-"what does halleloolah mean?"
me-"it's kind of like, 'yay,' but longer."
k-"oh."
me-"so the next time you're happy about something, you can just yell 'HALLELUJAH!' instead of 'yay,' and everyone will be impressed by your wonderful vocabulary."
k-"why would i press a button when i'm happy?"
me-"...yeah."
