He wasn't the only one who had had trouble sleeping, Angela reminded herself. She had taken something to help her sleep as well. It wasn't that she was better at reading the dosage than he; she simply knew not to take the whole bottle.
What to do? She could cry later, in a world like hers it was too important to keep this from the public for as long as could be.
Weak man. Why did he do it? What for? A divorce that, granted, couldn't have done him any favors, but at his age surely he wouldn't miss a nagging companion to answer to. Apparently she was wrong.
Who to call first? Nathan, that would be the sensible choice. It would also be the one that would prompt the most questions and justifying herself to him now would lead to admissions of her behavior in the past days and such guilt would be too overwhelming. Reaching for the phone, she dialed Peter's number, hoping he was awake even at seven on a Saturday morning.
