Texas was pretty and dark at night.
"There's a lot of stars," she pointed out, head leaning against the car door as she fumbled with her seatbelt. They were sixteen, since when did they bother with seatbelts?
"Did you know there's a lot of stars? Man, there's a lot." Another giggle, half-hearted as her eyelids dropped shut. She didn't feel sleepy. Just relaxed. And happy. Very happy.
