Today marks the 10th day straight that I've been with Jan, yay! Thank goodness for no long distance. Thanks that he moved 'down the street' for me. No arguments or fights-- let's keep it up. We still hang out at the kitchen counter, or on the bench outside, or wherever and talk. I noticed our everydays are comprised of us thanking each other, throughout the day, and before sleep.
Cabo: we started off with drinks at the airport, after my mom sleep over at Jan's and drove us.. We met this cool Australian lady who chatted with us for a while. She found her long lost brother online and was going to meet him and attend his wedding! If we ever go to Australia i would email her for recs. She told us to expand our horizons.
It was actually nice the trip was just us 2. We got invited to Cabo for a timeshare meeting, but the timeshare resort was overbooked so we got accommodations at the Hilton there, which was probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. Infinity pools with oceanfront view, private beach, servers bringing drinks out to the beach for us. Freshen up for date night at one of the restaurants on premises. It was like out of a commercial. Our room had a huge bathroom with a window that opened up to the bedroom with a window to the balcony, with a view of the ocean. Commercial! I have funny videos jumping out of the bathroom window to the bed. We had wine in the bedroom hot tub, on the balcony with a cigar, and drinks all day on the beach and in the pools. I swam to the bar to get a coconut and drank it in the water. Amazing! I really enjoyed getting dirty in the ocean with rocks in all my crevices. We went to the beach one night to sit and wait until the wave hit us. We let our guard down and it finally did and we ran! That was prob my favorite event of the trip. Or, watching a scary movie in bed one night.
With the flights with credit card points, hotel comped by the timeshare meeting, and boat cruise and massage comped but another timeshare meeting (i think I'm a pro at these now), we really only paid for taxis, food, and drink.
Finally, for the end of the trip we switched hotels to stay in downtown cabo. Everywhere was so Americanized. We had sushi, burgers, and went to the mall. How original! I'm glad we walked into the small streets and had tacos and asked chefs to make us non-breaded calamari. Mucho bueno!!! I was especially drunk that last night.
I think today is the first day i haven't drank in 10 days!
It was very fun and i enjoyed the quality time we had.
Santa Maria: we got home, ate, showered, then drove up north as Jolly's graduation/recognition ceremony was the next morning. He planned his outfit for a while and really didn't want to miss it. He said he didn't want to be a deadbeat dad. It was cute watching him keep his head high to find her. We got her balloons, flowers, and a fun card. I sat next to his ex-wife's mom, who was very very nice and told me to call her mommy? Lol. I swear the minute in she asked if we were getting married! I said hi to his ex-wife and her fiance. They let Jan take the fam and kids out to eat after. We were at the mom's house and i have to say they were very inviting, nice, and genuine. We took jolly and her cousins back to our hotel to swim. It was fun. I'm glad i got to see her be a kid cuz usually she's so adult with us. That was a very nice day. I fell asleep after swimming!
Then we explored SLO downtown on our own. I love that he likes to go out and do things! We alternated snacking and drinking, and ended the night with hot Cheetos, wine, and tv.
We picked up jolly the next day to eat at the beach then depart. At night we walked for 5 miles to Ventura. She was in so much pain she ran with her legs bent, back hunched, and arms in the back of her like wings. I laugh thinking about it cuz she looked like a special needs kid and she knew it and she was scaring people on the street!!! I like it. I like that she's weird. When we were almost home we stopped to get boba. I didn't exactly tell her to but i encouraged her to jam the straw in the cup, which resulted in a juice explosion and he got mad at her. But then she didn't say sorry. It was interesting to watch it. I stayed out of it cuz I don't think it's my place, but i looked at him in the mirror to go easy on her, and i looked at her as if you say sorry. We ended the night talking at the counter and staying up until 1. All was well!
My mom came over the next day to drop off food. And we lounged all day. And had movie night! That was nice.
Yesterday was father's day and we had brunch with his fam. I wish i wasn't invited because i can't eat $90 worth of a buffet. It was fun with his fam. Way too fancy, but fun. Jan, Jolly, and i wore matching color themes and we had matching necklaces heheeh.
We visited Stan after, then had froyo and a mini tour in Westwood, and movies.
At the end of the night i told him that i think he's a good dad. She went off to her room later and i told him to go in and hug and kiss her. He has to do this while he still can! While our dads can't!
It still makes me sad to think of the day that he told her she would go live with her mom and he would live in LA.
