Fridadiday after work I met up with a few girls I lived with last year for Katilin's birthday. We went to Chuck E Cheese (or more literally, I went to Chuck E Cheese after work, they were lost for about an hour and the driver refused to listen to my directions (I mean, I was sitting in the parking lot so obviously I knew how to get there) and eventually I had to meet them in a Walmart parking lot and have them follow me there; what would they do without my knowledge of the city of Springfield?) Tbh, I thought Chuck E Cheese was going to be lame, but it wasn't, it was a blast. I mostly ran around winning millions of tickts from Jackpot games (I tell ya, don't ever take me to a casino!). We all decided that we were going to win as many tickets as we could and give them all to Kaitlin for her birthday so she could ge tsomething nice. Well, we all had 12 tokens (except for Katelyn and me- Katelyn had 20 and I had 24) and altogether we raked in 697 tickets. Balling!
After that we went to Steak and Shake and got some yummy milkshakes, then Katelyn and I watched some CSI and went to bed. Yesterday I finally stopped neglecting the fact that I only had nail polish on three of my ten fingernails and (sloppily) painted them while watching Nancy Drew. I started work on an Intercultural Communication assignment, but it's all questions about our ancestors and I don't know anything about my ancestors. I answered some questions like, "What language did your ancestors speak? Well, the ones from Germany spoke German..." but I'm hoping my mom will have some more answers.
So Katelyn and I went to church as we always do and it was good. A little more noisy than usual (we don't have classes for the kids, it's a community!) but Dr. Gombis is amazing and I just love being at that church. I forgot my tithe money though and that was really lame of me. I'm really bad at money and my mom keeps telling me I need to tithe or I'm not going to have any. It's true, I know! Then we went to Taco Bell afterwards. I thought the basketball game started at 7, so I was all ready to go, but Katelyn told me it didn't start til 7:30, so we drove around Cedarville for 20 minutes (BORING!). But the game was awesome. It was a rough and tumbly game with a lot of fouls, a lot of guys on the floor, Brandon sliding into the crowd, and almost technical, and even some blood! But of course, we won by like, 10 points. I love basketball games. Hey, if you're close enough, come visit me and we'll go watch my school's basketball team beat another school's basketball team!! They've only lost one game, out of like, 22.
Ohhhh but it gets better from here. Katelyn and I have been saving these pizza box box tops where if you save 9 you get a free pizza. So last night we had finally reached our goal of nine and were going to pick up our free (tiny, but free) pizza. We pulled up in the parking lot (rather, a row of five parking spaces, but we're a small town!) right next to this other car, of which Basketball Zach was getting out. Him and his little friend (it was a guy, but next to Basketball Zach anyone looks little) were actually going in to stay and eat, so after Katelyn and I got back out to the car I said, "I should leave my number on his windshield." So I did! I wrote on a piece of paper, "Zach, 724-812-7214 <3 Suzanne" and stuck it under his windshield wiper. He called! I was all nervous. But it was a short conversation. He basically asked how I knew it was his car ("I saw you get out of it"), how I knew who he was ("you were on basketball last year") and for my last name so he could look me up on Stalkernet, this thing on our school's website where you can look up everyone's basic student info and picture. But I took my picture down because it was hit and so I told him my picture wasn't up there and he told me to add him on Facebook and "we'll continue this conversation later." So base, if I'm not hot enough, we're never talking again. Haha. Fine by me! I've always known he wasn't exactly the deepest person, (well I don't like him for his personality, please) so I'm alright with whatever.
Funn weekend. And next weekend I get to go home and Katelyn, Erin, and Brittany are coming and we're going to the Chili Cook Off with Sarah! At least I hope Sarah comes! And also I got my passport in the mail this week! Breathe a sigh of relief, everyone, I'm going to Honduras!
Grayson hasn't been coming to Spanish lately? But I'm establishing a friendship with one William Michael (real name William, goes by Michael) who now lovingly refers to me as "Jonas Brothers." Oh, life is fun. And I've been learning more and more how to love other people as Christ loved and how to show them the light of Christ, to preach, not just practice. Praise God for awesome people in my life! And for our gospel choir singing in chapel tomorrow. It's going to be amazing! We're singing with the jazz band this latino-y song. So fun!
Brittany and the birthday girl!
Kaitlin (the b-day girl), Erin and I making some new friends (that Katelyn was scared to even get close to).
Starting 5. Peep Daniel's (the guy in the front with the crazy hair) arms. They are so crazy long. And his hands! It's nuts seeing him up close. Haha. Him and the other black guy, and one more black guy are all from Jamaica.
And that's why they're here from Jamaica! That's Ricardo, my favorite. And number 11 is married.
Seriously, so many people fell down.
Aw.
Here's a picture of the ref never calling a foul when the other team hit our players in the face or pushed them over. (Which reminds me of this one time that Christopher Walker was standing there guarding and this player from the other team tried to know into him with his whole body and Christopher didn't even budge. Brick wall, baby!)
Balling!
This guy, Chris Cleveland is so nuts. He's a sixth year senior and he has the most school spirit ever.
I ADORE that we pray before each basketball game and that the teams pray afterwards. Because even though we just killed them on the basketball court, we all still share the love of Jesus. :)
