Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
She's quite fit. Military and all. Stronger than she looks. She puts her body through a lot of abuse though with overwork. Canonically, she stands at 161 centimeters and weighs 47 kilograms. Lol, anime stats. Y u so unrealistic? IDEK, I think she weighs more. She also wears high heels so that skews the height. /shrugs
2. How old is she?
Twenty in Endless Waltz (X-mas AC196) but I like to think she has an early birthday in AC197 so I play her 21.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
She carries herself exceedingly well. Military bearing. Stands straight with her fists loosely clenched at her sides as is standard for individuals of her position. Gundam Wing is amazingly accurate with this. It's the exact same way my commanders asked me to stand when I served with my ROTC unit. 8|
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Good health and fit if you put aside that she's constantly overworked. Not sure if it's a physical disability but I assume she has a scar on her chest from when Tuberov shot her.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Graceful, demmit. 8| Lol, no really, it depends on the situation. Most of the time, she's kind of stiff.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
Not really that attractive. It's more of how she carries herself that has appeal. I guess some would call her beautiful. I mean the ambassadors in Episode 17 were really awed by her and she even made one blush. Lol, Une and mirrors. She looks at herself in reflective surfaces a lot. Muses to herself, too. It's less self-admiration and more identity crisis. When she looks in the mirror, there's a lot of "Is this me?" going on in her pretty little head.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Clear, I guess.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Brown, straight and worn loose.
9. What color are her eyes?
Brown.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
She used to wear glasses? Not really. I mean she's not the sort of pretty that turns heads. It's more of how she owns a room when she walks into it and how she carries herself.
11. What are her chief tension centers?
Eyebrow raise. Frown. Clenched fists. B|
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Utilitarian. Lots of the same uniform plus business wear. I've seen her wear blue, red, green, pink and purple in canon. Yes, she has six of the same suit. UNIFORMS~ On a side note, I have her wear a thigh holster under her skirt in-game because flashing a gun around would draw attention and just seems impractical. Also, it's fucking sexy.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
Yes. Definitely. Comfortable out of them, too. Modesty, what is it? She undresses in front of servants while a video feed in the background has one of her soldiers talking business. Episode 18, btw.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?
She likes to wear her uniform. Always on the job, man. I guess she has clothes for sleeping in. Skirt suits, too.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Lol, sometimes thongs. ;D Got to avoid panty lines in those skirts. But yeah, plain whites for her uniforms.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
I opt for her sounding like her dub VA: Enuka Okuma. Her voice would be a bit deep. Sort of sultry, I guess?
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
EVENLY. She talks easily but hesitation shows because there's a lot of self-deprecation and apologies.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
I saw in the dub that she likes to use more refined words? Like instead of saying "wrong," she'll say "mistaken." I do the same with my speech pattern for her. BIG VOCABULARY.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
IDEK, she's German? But I think she doesn't speak it. GW is very international. I guess she knows common phrases for a shitload of languages but hasn't mastered any except for English.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
Nope.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
Very good impromptu.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
Eloquent, bitch. Might change if she REALLY loses her temper.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
I assume she's got quite the IQ. She does lead the defense forces for the whole world and the colonies, after all. She'd have to be both book-smart and street-smart.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
Adapts to the situation.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
Argh, this isn't something you can pin down with her. Again, she's very adaptive. She becomes what the situation requires her to be. 8|
4. What kind of education has the character had?
Attended Lake Victoria. Probably wasn't a cheerleader. xD
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
Leadership. Tactics. Diplomacy. Bureaucracy. Shooting. Handling high explosives. Her piloting records are...yeah, she needs to learn more there.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert but she can be a social butterfly when needed. She has a really hard time taking compliments though. In Episode 10, she wonders why Treize has to thank his soldiers. Probably because she doesn't accept thanks from him. She's extremely awkward when he takes her hand in Episode 11 while she's being apologetic. It's the sort of "I'm just doing my job. Why should I be commended for simply doing what I SHOULD be doing?" And in Episode 46, when he asks her why she saves him, she just tells him that the battle has to be fought. I think that fits with my understanding of her. However, by Endless Waltz, I think she understands the need to thank soldiers already. They're placing their confidence in her and that kind of trust needs to be commended. In the end, it's the soldier who's important, not the leader. The leader deserves the least commendation. It's how Treize did things and she's following by example.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Former schizoid. 8| She's even-tempered now. Not really cheerful or melancholy. Just politically happy with a side of lineface? Definitely driven.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
She adapts.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
Preventer prevents. ACT!
10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Lol, where my diplomacy at?
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
She'll smile at jokes, I guess. As long as the prank doesn't cause her or anyone else inconvenience, her reaction may range from just rolling with it to admonishing the prankster.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
Former schizoid. Just get through the day as best she can. I assume she's had treatment, too. Seems to be cured of it even before she gets shot. It's her finally attaining "understanding" that leads Tuberov to shoot her.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Oh fuck, I'm probably gonna barf tl;dr over this.
Episode 10: When Noin relays that call from Treize telling her to be more graceful after she threatens to fire on the colonies. This is probably the trigger for the multiple personality disorder.
Episode 11: Relena shooting at her.
Episode 17: Becoming colony representative. I swear even I didn't recognize her when I first saw it.
Episode 22: Getting conned by Nichol into piloting a Virgo Taurus and nearly getting killed in the process due to her personality switches and whatnot. Zechs saves her at Treize's behest.
Episode 25: Getting shot by Tuberov after she finally understands what Treize's goals are and releases the pilots. Shit, I need to rewatch this. She pilots in this one but somehow manages to keep the suit intact. xD Guess her piloting isn't as bad as I thought. Well, one out of four?
Edit: And post-rewatch, I love how she says "This is what Mister Treize and I both want." before she goes to release the pilots. It's an affirmation of the self, in a sense. She's not doing this just because he wants it. She's doing this because it's something she wants as well. She also has this kick-ass speech about understanding why MDs suck. She put it a lot more eloquently than that though. xD And bawww...straight face while getting shot. 8| She calls herself far too lenient as a soldier but austere as a civilian. Argh, I <3 her more and more with every re-watch.
Episode 46: Waking up from coma.
Episode 48: Losing Treize. Issuing the World Nation's surrender.
Episode 49: Being denied death by Relena. Asking Noin a favor to broadcast the battle between Zechs and Heero so people could understand the pain brought by war.
Endless Waltz: Second Eve War and Mariemaia. Enough said. Yes, this will make zero sense if you don't know the canon. Sorry? ._.;
14. What does she fear?
Failure. But she faces it everyday... /headdesk
15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
Lame beauty pageant answer: peace
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
How easily she can be manipulated, probably.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
Uh, we never see them in canon.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Same as #1.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
Yeah, same as above.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Preventer agents, I guess. But she still keeps a distance because she's their superior.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Lol, Noin. But they didn't exactly get along in OZ which is where I assume they met. Work and all that. Still, Noin was the one to accompany her to the X-mas party in EW and they seem to speak freely with each other. Yeah, I guess Noin is the closest Une has to a best friend.
6. Does she have other close friends?
Preventer. Just Preventer. 8|
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
Getting along with people is easy but making friends is hard. She's very good at putting up the political facade but getting into her inner circle is very difficult.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
ALL INDIVIDUALS ARE EQUAL, DEMMIT. Dx
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
No.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
In canon, it was obviously Treize. In game, it might be Takasugi but she's uncertain about that.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Sincerity. Considering her position and history, she wants someone she can trust. Someone who won't use her. With that much power, she can't afford to be manipulated. Also, forwardness. Putting in the effort to understand her is a BIG PLUS. She goes around trying to understand other people but nobody really bothers to understand her. Couldn't care less about looks really. I mean she's kind of damaged herself and she would HATE getting sympathy if people found out about her previous mental illness. So yeah, physical deformity or not, she's gonna treat you as normal. That's not to say she won't be slightly aghast if you're a talking fox or something. xD Dude, only human.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
Well, she adopted Mariemaia. I think she cares for the kid as best she can even if it's Treize's daughter via another woman. Considering her job, I don't think she wants kids. She might consider it selfish to devote so much to a single life just because they're flesh and blood while so many are suffering. Issues, she has them.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
Anyone who threatens the peace. 8|
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the
Kinsey scale?
Seems pretty straight. I guess she's a 1 on the Kinsey scale because you know how women can be with gal pals. I do play her with some super teeny les yay with Noin for the lulz.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Sex is meh to her. I mean she flirts. She knows she has appeal. But yeah, not very important. She has work. That's not to say she doesn't occasionally masturbate. Considering how high-stress her job is and the fact that she doesn't smoke or drink (turned down Treize's offer of wine in Episode 9), she'd need some form of release.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Uh...I play her virginal? I'll get back to you on that if this changes. It's not a habit but I think it's notable that I play her as artificially sterile. A woman in her position needs to be pragmatic about this sort of thing. She can have the treatment reversed if she wants, I guess. It's mostly there if she ever decides to give in to temptation or, heaven forbid, if she's ever sexually assaulted. Yeah, she ponders all the worst case scenarios.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (
zodiac of
choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Yeah, no canon data here.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
While she does wax poetic about the nature of existence, I play her as being an atheist.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
She won't kill unless necessary. I mean that was Preventer's approach in Endless Waltz. Zechs and Noin didn't kill any enemy pilots and it's impossible for her not having had a say in that. NECESSITY is what would compromise it. She was willing to kill Dekim because he might try another gambit that would kill millions. She would kill to save lives.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
Tolerant to a fault. 8|
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
I don't think she has any. Gives everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Comfortable. My guess is she's quite rich but she invests all of it into Preventer. In-game, this is the same case.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
One of those noble peeps. But she never really acted like one in terms of snobbery so no real change.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
I assume she had a really nice house in canon. In-game, she shares a room with five people. Either way, it's just a place to rest at the end of the day. Doesn't really matter. I think she falls asleep at her desk a lot when she goes on overtime.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Preventer. Just Preventer. 8| She's also the sort of boss who keeps track of birthdays and will inquire if you seem out of it. She has finances set aside for helping other people, too.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
Preventer Chief. ;) Best and only. Wouldn't have it any other way.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
Reading and shooting. IDEK. She seems to work A LOT. Collecting intel. Making allies.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Yep, meal skipper due to time constraints. I doubt she avoids certain foods considering, as a diplomat, you sometime have to eat things you'd rather not as respect to the host. Delicacies and all that. She doesn't drink though. Steadfast in that. I mean she even turned down Treize on that matter. (Episode 9)
Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is her favorite:
1. Color?
Pink and purple. She wears these in Endless Waltz. I like the idea of a tough woman wearing "girly" colors. You don't have to be masculine to be strong.
2. Smell?
Citrus. I know most people would say roses but she's Preventer now and I doubt she'd want that scent on her constantly reminding her of her grief since she'd associate it with Treize. Citrus is a nice clean scent. Practical in its appeal. Sweet but with a bite. I think that suits her.
3. Time of day?
The eternal night of space. 8|
4. Season?
Winter.
5. Book?
Pygmalion and Galatea. She's definitely a Galatea in the sense that Treize fell in love with his own creation. A creation that definitely was in no position to express reciprocation considering their positions in OZ and all that. I mean she did reciprocate but yeah, CANNOT EXPRESS. She can't even take a compliment from him. 8|
6. Music?
This cover of Rocketeer. Click
here to download. x3
7. Place?
That huge office of hers. 8|
8. Substance?
Liquid. She changes to suit the vessel, so to speak. Adapts to all situations.
9. Plant?
I guess she's a white rose. Episode 28 and all that. Pretty and pure-looking but thorny as all fuck. xD
10. Animal?
This is just me but...yeah, German Shepherd dog. 8|
