deadmau5 is the greatest thing I've discovered in a long while. My last few downloads have been gigantic (5gb+) collections of trance/electronic music; I think I'm genre-switching for a while. This is what happens when all my new friends turn out to be ravers.
So, I'm home. Thanksgiving was nice, although I had a cup of Neocitron with dinner and it knocked me out before dessert and I had to go to bed. Yesterday was 'have gigantic fights with mom for no reason' day. When the fights cooled off, she revealed she thinks she's the wrong person to be my mother, because she isn't strong enough to fight me. Her grandfather used to yell a lot, and as a result, her mother would never yell, and MY mother never learned how to argue. Meanwhile, my argumentativeness is built into me somehow, and I can't not fight back. It's surprisingly hard.
As such, we haven't talked much since. It's a really odd feeling, knowing your mother thinks she's failed in being a good mother, despite anything I say. I couldn't have asked for a better childhood and she raised me the absolute best she could and I think I turned out fine. Considering she thinks she's failed, it sort of reflects that she doesn't like what I've turned out to be. She also thinks I've hated her for the last few years and I have NO CLUE where she's getting this.. but it's all very depressing, so I've been hiding out with my laptop instead of dodging bullets. She's very, very good at guilt-tripping and attacking very subtly, and I'd like to avoid that.
WoW patch!! New talent trees! Pet talent trees! WotLK in less than a month! Eee! If only my stupid laptop would stop lagging me out every five minutes, maybe I'd get to appreciate this more.
