Ruby had been spending about as much time as she could with her little pet human. She didn't have anything else to do. That was what she told herself. Today she was sitting in his hotel room, which she's allowed herself to slip into with a simple picking of the lock. It scared the shit out of Cole everytime. She got herself comfortable, slipping off the jean jacket and out of her jeans before tossing them to the side of the room. She curled up under the blankets, even though she didn't need much sleep and then gave a soft sigh of contentment. Pillows.
He was still gone three hours later and she wa a tad bit grumpy. She was tired of waiting and if he came back hurt, he wasn't going to want the attention he was going to get. She rummaged through his bag that he had at the edge of the bed and muttered softly. He was such a pig. Mind you, she wasn't going to ever call him that, but the boy needed to learn how to actually fold clothes and shove them into bags right. it annoyed her just slightly. She found one of her favorite shirts of his and then slipped out of the one she was wearing tossing it to join her jeans and shoes, slipping his shirt on and then promptly curling back up into the bed and closing her eyes. Sad thing was it smelled like him. She had grown fond of him and a huge part of her hated it. At the same time part of her loved it. She was confused and that wasn't something that Ruby was used to. It didn't make sense to her. Cole however knew that he had her feelings turned all upside down.
Cole eventually quietly slipped into his room and closed the door, seeing the lump in the bed and the clothes on the other side of the room. His brow perked slightly as he walked over and stripped off his jeans and shirt before sliding into the bed opposite of her. Her eyes were still closed and he thought she was asleep.
"If all you're going to do is stare at me? Turn the other way."
That made him smirk before he moved a bit closer, perhaps pushing his luck on the issue of closeness. She'd warned him before about getting too close to her. It would end up with her knee to his jewels and he wasn't so sure he wanted that, tonight though he wasn't too concerned about it. Her eyes popped open and he grinned a little bit at her.
"Don't smile. You have nothing to smile about."
"Wrong Ruby. I have a reason to smile."
"What's that? You lose your mind?"
"I have a gorgeous blond in bed with me."
Ruby rolled her eyes and went to turn away but was stopped by a hand on her arm which slid down and pulled her close to him. She perked a brow at him and then narrowed her eyes. All he did was smile at her and then lean in, to which her head started pulling back.
"What the hell are you doing?"
He rolled his eyes at her and slid his hand back up, wrapping his fingers into her hair and pulling her in for a kiss. At first, she didn't respond. It was foreign to her. Then the memories of the girl that used to live in this body came into being. She started kissing him back before snapping herself back into place and pulling away, but not too far away.
"Don't ever do that again."
cole just smirked and then gripped her hair and pulled her back.
For the next two hours they wound up kissing together and laying together. It was something Ruby wasn't used to. Something that she wasn't sure if she liked or not, but it was something that made her think that there was more than just the witty banter back and forth between the two of them.
The fact that there could be something more.
