Summary: Sam gets beat up, Dean patches Sam up and they go to get an apology.
Dean heard the scream from outside and set down weapon he was cleaning. Sam was coming up the sidewalk.
"I'm bleeding, Dean. Really bleeding,'“ there were tears streaming down his chunky cheeks.
"It's okay, Sammy. I'm here," Dean wiped his hands off on a rag before getting Sam to sit down on the steps.
"What happened?" Dean tried to calm he so he could investigate the injury further.
"Dumb kid said we were weird."
"We are weird, Sam. Anyway, what did you tell him?"
"I can't remember. Then, he just knocked me to the ground."
"You know where this kid lives?" Sam nodded.
"We'll go make sure he apologizes and knows for sure that he can't be doing that again."
"I don't wanna go back there."
"It's for your own good Sammy. We need stand up for ourselves, especially when Dad's not here."
A scraped elbow and a scraped knee wasn't all that bad, it was the damage done to Sam mentally that Dean worried most about.
The other boy apologized, although no where near as profusely as his mother did. He seemed to get the message to leave Sammy alone. Sam’s eyes shone up at his big brother for fixing what he’d thought was broken beyond repair.
“Want some cocoa when we get home? Dean offered.
“Sure, but we don’t have a special occasions.”
“This is one, Sam. We solved our own problems. We’re celebrating our responsibility to ourselves and each other. Sill want the cocoa?”
“Yeah,” Sam smiled.
