The tarot card of the Knight of Swords as it designated a person, Anthony was in accord, that was Lawrence.
A person intelligent, subtle and clever with a well developed capacity for abstract thought; ruthless and a hard task master, able to get to the heart of matters where he could manipulate things. Tall, lots of sex appeal, charismatic, powerful, a good friend, a dangerous ally.
Tony ticked off each characteristic in his head, finding them accurate. Definitely dangerous and manipulative; hard. He moaned as Lawrence thrust forward again, unable to move. Lawrence loved his wedding gift of the rope.

The tarot Ten of Cups card lay next to Lawrence’s Knight of Swords. A good family life, happiness, joy and contentment. He’d been told it indicated “the enjoyment of pleasures to be shared with one you love.” It was a suitable reading for their wedding day.
Anthony moaned again in the rope’s restraints as Lawrence continued the thrusts interspersed with words of love and kisses, some soft licks some hard. Keeping them teetering just this side of their mutual orgasms.

Anthony remembered his cousin’s pale face in the crowd, his wrist clamped in the fist of Maurice’s overlord, Anthony‘s former lord. Lawrence had noticed too, arranging for Maurice, if he chose, to enter a monastery where he would be free from the torment of acting a whore for his master.4
