Hands clasped tightly together, Remus and Tonks slowly made their way out into the center of the icy pond, the blade of their skates slicing into the frozen surface.
"I'll warn you," Tonks said with a grin. "I'm quite good. Dad used to take me skating all the time."
The aging werewolf raised an eyebrow and quirked a smile, the scars on his face momentarily seeming to fade away. "Did he? Well, why don't you show me?"
With a wink, Tonks let go of his hand and took off, literally skating circles around him. Her short pink hair whipped around in the wind and she grinned, skating backwards, wrapping her multicolored knitted scarf around her face tighter to keep out the biting cold.
"Beat that," she teased, skating back to him, her apple blossom cheeks bright pink from the cold and her breath coming out in cloudy puffs.
Remus merely winked and took off quickly, leaving Tonks stunned. The self-professed skating novice skated around the circumference of the large a few times before launching into the air and sticking a double axel perfectly and returning to his girlfriend.
Her mouth hung open for what seemed like hours before she blinked and came back to reality. "Where the bloody hell did you learn that!"
"My mum," he said simply, taking her hand and leading her around the pond.
Tonks nodded and help his woolen gloved hand tighter in her won, admiring the contrast between his worn brown and her shocking pink. "Teach me?" she asked.
"Of course."
